It'll take them several decades just to get here. I doubt slaves are worth such a trip, and neither is our resources. If aliens ever came for resources in our solar system, Earth is a terrible choice when unguarded planets with either more or the same amount of resources exist.
The only nefarious, exploiting purpose they could have for landing on Earth is for food sources and medicine, and maybe to take some technology that they don't have. Any scientists that says these guys would have every technology possible don't realize that it would only take humanity a few decades to have long-range space travel, if we felt like having it.
don't realize that it would only take humanity a few decades to have long-range space travel, if we felt like having it.
...This is really a big -blam!-ing deal to be able to -blam!-ing do!

Once we got flight, it took 60 years till we got to the moon. The type of rocket and the computers necessary took even less time. We already have some more efficient and long-range stuff on the drawing board, and in testing. We just don't have a use for it yet. So it doesn't seem like we have all that much because we don't use all that much.

We don't have a use for them? I'm pretty -blam!-ing sure colonizing a planet is a major goal for any space group or big business. Pretty sure it'll be a major race to a lot of gas giant planets in the system to get the gasses from it.

The worlds biggest government can't even agree on funding healthcare for the less fortunate, what makes you think they're at all interested in funding space exploration?

Well it is America, a lot of shit happening here now and then....

As of now it is too expensive with little market. If it isn't a satellite, companies usually don't bother with it.
