Some LCDs have been known to "dim" a little over time. But if you think that it's valuable to have matching monitors, the likelihood is that the 2nd one will have a similar amount of use and if it has dimmed, it will be close to the one you currently have.

It appears that if there is anybody who should be an expert on this, it is you! That is an impressive collection you have. You could open a museum. On a serious note, thanks for the answer. I think I will go ahead and get the second monitor then. Hope that both are equally old and run down!
