I thought I would really like weapon crafting, but it turns out that to me it feel like a hassle. Half the time I’m so busy I forget weapon crafting is an option until I get a red box drop or notice I have a quest about it. Just curious how much other people are using it.

There's nothing I want to craft.
-
Thoughtless has the best PvE setup you could ask for right off the bat with crafting so I can’t complain too much.
-
After you craft the exotic glaive and ask yourself “is that it?”, it barely seems worth it.

8 RepliesYeah, there are a few I’m interested in. First full craft was to MW Osteo. First full craft with enhanced perks was Palmyra and it is amazing. I crafted Pointed Inquiry to be an ultimate shield buster for solo lost sectors. Likely Suspect is next. I have no interest in crafting everything but the few I am interested in, I am pretty excited to curate the weapon to my playstyle and make my own 5/5 roll. I also loved doing this in RPGs like FFXII. Going around the world collecting obscure materials and crafting a sword to slay out. Makes it feel better than rng imo.

Yes. I like it but would like to see two improvements: 1) Enhanced perks give an additional +10 to a stat instead of just +5 currently 2) We can earn two barrel and magazine options after hitting level 15 on the weapon.

I just wish it was easier to level up my weapons. My glaive is like level 65 or 70, but after I equip my sniper and use it every time I get ammo for like 20 wellsprings and it didnt even level up. Special ammo weapons should be scaled to level up faster than primary ammo weapons in my opinion but that is just my take. I love my under your skin bow, and I love it can get my favorite gag perk firmly planted. Just wish I could make a seventh seraph officer revolver with firmly planted too. I like firmly planted, I don’t even crouch lol.

yes but only specific ones and only when I'm maxed out on materials wont fully upgrade them till next season for reduced materials needs to create
-
A couple weapons yes but for the most part world drops and those from activities are better. The red weapon grind is a bit of a turn off I d rather unlocks happen from deconstructing weapons and getting perks from thise directly. Still have weapon leveling and tie that to advanced perks but get rid of the red box weapons just clogs my vault......

Crafting doesn't seem useful to me when I got some good weapons plus I like to be surprised with rolls that I get on their weapons
-
Every weapon I can craft I have crafted. Only non-raid weapon I’m still missing the pattern for is the Piece of Mind. Of the 20 weapons I’ve crafted so far, 9 of them are level 20+, and I have 11 enhanced perks plus the Osteo catalyst.

I'm enjoying it. Just want more variety. I know it's coming.
-
Sparingly crafting the things I want to level up.
-
I crafted once and that was for the glance, the normal one not the exotic ones
-
1 ReplyI crafted the Likely Suspect fusion, and like I told my clan mates when I was done, it will be all for not because once the best roll has been established for PvE/PvP it will be used and abused leading to an inevitable nerf. Also, soon everyone in PvP and PvE will have the same rolls on crafted weapons such as the fusion and the Ragnild-D shotty. I can imagine once a handcanon is craftable you will see one, maybe two different rolls in PvP and PvE.

1 ReplyNot anymore, I've only crafted a couple of weapons, I did the bow for dragonfly enhanced and archers tempo enhanced, which don't really seem any better than the normal dragonfly and archers tempo. Since the enhanced perks aren't worth the effort, I don't see any reason to keep crafting since the enhanced perks are garbo. I can get random drops with the same perks and just use those instead.
-
I was, until the two I've crafted have been nerfed. No reason to do anymore. That'd be insane.
-
Yep, for quests, triumphs, and seals lol.
-
I did some the first couple weeks, but I'm not any more unless it's the exotic glaives. There is just no purpose to grind the red boxes, only to cap out on the materials, then when you do want to make stuff, you run out and have to regrind rather than have all the mats you should have had from all the red boxes that didn't matter after awhile. I have decent enough rolls on most of the guns and simply do not use the others to where crafting them just to do it is pointless.
-
Slowly but surely, it’s growing on me. I got a red pardon our dust, and you know what? I wouldn’t mind getting 4 more and crafting my own god roll.

Edited by CHICKENWING4LYF: 3/30/2022 8:10:45 PMFor the scout, palmyra, and likely suspect I definitely am. Looking forward to the season pulse, raid GL, and I’m one away from the raid SMG. In short, yes. I don’t need enhanced on everything, and only get it when I for sure won’t change it and for sure feel like it’s worth the enhanced.
-
Way too expensive. 1800 neutral elements for ONE gun? Assuming you don’t change your mind midway? That’s 9 deepsight weapons just to craft 1. Not to mention Bungie forced me to waste alloys for their quests.
-
Worst implemented idea on D2. And that's quite the accomplishment.
-
I have a few. It's stupid to have to grind for the pattern and materials only to then grind more for the perks.
-
I've been collecting the Redbox weapons whenever I can to unlock patterns and craft base versions, but I'm only really leveling and reshaping the ones I'm using currently.
-
just the quests. waiting to see if they adjust costs and also maybe make it so crafted/leveled weapons actually feel more powerful than normal drops.
