There's gotta be a better way to actually use mono chrome loudouts

Split primary and specials

Some sort of toggle feature

Idk but I'd like Bungie to address it

With void 3.0 and stasis it's become really apparent that osmosis isn't good enough for running a triple energy types. I know that double special is big in the community but we really need some way to have energy types in all 3 slots. The only thing I can think of besides splitting primary and specials is having some kind of toggle in the settings but this seems impractical in a dev sense. Anyone have other ideas?

My ideal solution would be to remove the separation between kinetic and energy weapons entirely and just group them all into one category called "Non-Heavy", combine the two 3x3 grids that show when you hover over the 1st or 2nd weapon slots into a single 3x6 grid (auto-sorted with kinetic weapons at the top, followed by energy, and then empty slots at the bottom), and then allow any non-heavy weapon to be equipped in either of the first two slots. Want to run double kinetic weapons in lower difficulty content where enemy shields don't really matter, go for it! Want to run double energy weapons in legend/master/GM activities that has match-game so you can have one weapon each for Arc+Solar+Void shields, please do! Want to just swap them around and have an energy weapon in slot one and a kinetic in slot two so you always spawn into activities with your energy weapon out, be my guest!
