Hi, lore noob here with a few questions for those more well-versed.
1) I know gameplay-wise it makes sense not to be able to mix any of the three forms of Light, but is there anything lore-wise saying it can’t happen?
Or, to push the idea further, is there anything so far saying Guardians can’t mix a form of Light and Dark? Like, imagine summoning a Golden Gun infused with the inevitable Corruption Darkness energy we’ll be seeing in the future?
2) Also, is there a reason lore-wise for why Guardians shape their Light into specific shapes? Or can we technically shape our Light into whatever we can imagine?
3) Final question, is there a reason most Guardians choose a class? I can’t imagine there’s any benefit from it lore-wise, only serving to limit Guardians in how we manifest our Light.

For 1. I haven’t seen anything that says we can’t mix different kinds of light, so I imagine that could be technically possible (definitely not in gameplay though) 2. Guardians can make their light into anything they desire, and the subclasses we have are just the most popular ways they manifest. I could be wrong but I believe it’s stated in the lore at one point the reason there are so many gunslingers is because they all wanted to be like the legend of the man with the golden gun, Shin Malphur. 3. Guardians today choose a class again because of convention and accessibility. Hunters had to learn blink from warlocks, and Titans figured out shoulder charge because they couldn’t learn how to blink at all. Guardians just naturally fluctuate towards one of them, but back in the dark age there were no “classes” and light was more person by person. We see this with characters like the drifter and the warlords, who didn’t really match the way we use light now. As drifter puts it, “Dark age was wild times!”
