It seems they really hate Win 7 users. They released that anti cheat thing and Win 7 users couldn't launch the game for at least 3 weeks, and now they do something so Win 7 users cant even see menus or anything else.
If they are going to remove Win 7 compatibility then change the Specs on Steam, and refund everyone who does NOT want to change their OS and who paid for the game and its DLC but can no longer use it because they keep breaking it...

More that they don't care. We no longer account for a large enough percentage of the customer base for them. They have limited time to QC stuff before their announced released date and we simply don't matter enough to check before release. Nothing can be done about that now. The question at this time is more whether or not anyone has been tasked to the problem already, or if we're still just sitting on the list of stuff to fix, while they work on and polish other stuff.

Well last time they took 3 weeks to fix the problem. And no matter how limited their time is, it only takes a couple of minutes to try running it on Win 7 and spot the problem considering the problem is visible from the moment the game loads.

Edited by PhellAsleep: 3/6/2022 4:01:13 AMActually, last time they took 2 weeks to announce the problem was on their side and one week to fix it. 2nd week someone made an unauthorized workaround to fix/bypass for the problem, but Bungie cautioned you might get banned for using it. We have a pretty good idea of the timeline because BNGhelp6 actually kept us relatively up to date on the progress of everything, even to the point letting us know when they had a fix right before a weekend, but wouldn't release it until the next scheduled weekly update. How much of that was them actually working on it for 3 weeks and how much of it was them just looking at what the unauthorized guy did to fix it, is up to speculation.

When they actually started working on it does not matter, and in fact makes it worse. They were made aware of the problem on day ONE, if they waited 2 weeks to actually do anything about it then that makes it even worse than taking 3 weeks to fix it. But in the end it took them 3 weeks to get it fixed, all because they already had our money and didn't care if we couldn't play. And complaining about an "unauthorized guy" doing something about it when they did nothing is stupid, at least someone was trying to fix the problem. I know it takes time to track down bugs, but it would have taken less time for them to actually test it properly and not released the update until they made sure it worked.

Edited by Terr: 3/8/2022 12:37:25 AMBy my count, the game was unplayable for 24 days after the start of Season of the Lost, and now it's been unplayable for 14 days (and still rising) since the start of Witch Queen. So across the last last 200 days, Win7 users have been totally unable to play for 19% of the time. Spread out, that's more than one broken day every single week. Totally unacceptable for an officially "supported" OS by a game-studio with hundreds of millions of dollars in yearly revenue.

Exactly. And it wouldn't be a problem if they tested it first. It only takes at most 5 minutes to run the game on a Win 7 pc to see that the UI won't load. So it doesn't even take that much testing...

Made a new post for continued visibility, since the default forum-view excludes threads over a week old: >> Game broken for ~20% of the last 200 days for all Win7 customers. Unacceptable.
