I play a lot of PVP and so far this season it feels pretty bad. I played 14 matches yesterday and lost 12. Lobbies still full of shotty apes and hancannon spammers. Bad team balance, Bad map rotation, Half of my matches were on 2 maps. Several players teleporting and I got error kicked out of two of my games.
It really seems that Bungie does not have anyone actually playing PVP on their staff. None of the supposed fixes to special ammo and shotguns has done anything to balance the overuse of special weapons. The focus on gunplay was short lived as ability spam seems just as prominent as ever and people running around spamming a fusion get their super just as fast as a guy using a primary despite the BS marketing around changing it.
At this point I have zero hope that PVP will ever be better in this game. Bungie seems to be fine with it. You just have to be ok with what it is if you want to play it.

Edited by LotsaJam: 3/7/2022 6:14:25 PMPretty much. It would be infinitely better if they would actually do something about special ammo and gunplay focus that makes a difference but I've accepted it for what it is and I still like playing it.

Not to be 'that guy', but your going against HC's with a sidearm you're asking for a rough time. And as far as Scouts are concerned, Bungie really dropped the ball balancing the longer range single shot weapons vs spray weapons. They didn't want a scout/pure long range meta developing.

I don't use sidearms to compete with HC's, I use them to counter shotty users at closer ranges and I do just fine. I never said I was having a rough time I just said current PVP feels pretty bad with the over use of special weapons, abilities and poor connections.

Doesn’t matter the loadout if 4 members of your team don’t really know how to play and the enemy team are well versed. Countless games just watch teammates die one at a time solo while enemy teams just grouped up. Enemy team always move in twos and lobby balanced teams go in one at a time and die. And then they quit. How many quits in games you experienced? Literally 5 vs 6 every game, enemy team barely gets a leaver lol

Edited by cerealkeller: 3/4/2022 8:21:26 AMthat's been my experience too. I'm trying to get grenade kills for my Witherhord catalyst and it's just ridiculously slow going with shotgun apes around every corner and I have seen A LOT of teleporting lately even before witch queen it was starting to get bad

I have averaged around a 2.0 KD in my last 2500 matches playing 100% solo using non meta weapons. I would say I'm doing fine. I'm going to guess you are one of the trash kids who's top 2 weapons used is HC / Shotty and runs around team shooting with your boyfriends bruh.

It’s peekshotting potential and reward of skillful shots will always work best for good players. Good movement doesn’t work as well with autos or pulses. That’s why it’s hard for you to beat hand cannon users. Usually hand cannon users are better than the average d2 player because they take skill. Is ain’t that they’re broken, man. Just learn how to play against top tier players.

Your top weapon is pulse rifles which is the all time easiest primary to use other than maybe smgs now... and after that in second place it’s SUPERS. 🤦♂️
