It has been a big issue on PC since anti-cheat and crossplay started. Seems like you can always tell when someone is connected via WiFi. I bet any connection based matchmaking either takes the highest rate in a fireteam or just bases it off the fireteam leader. I don’t have enough knowledge about it, but that’s my guess. I have great internet speed for my area, but it seems like only half the bullets register on some people. The first 2 minutes of a match in 6v6 are usually the worst. They must have the peer to peer leaning on the slow connections first or something. The first 2 or 3 shots I take with a sniper rifle usually just go right through the other person.

I'd like to piggyback off your comment. I've said since d1 that anyone with a limited/too slow connection shouldn't be allowed in the game. Too bad it will never happen, because as long as they have people who will buy their game they will put profit over performance and quality.

  • They are banning people who have extremely bad connections. I bet all it takes is for one fireteam member to have WiFi or be playing in a region a lot further away. Using a VPN is trash too.

  • If they are banning people with bad connections, I'm not seeing it. Every other survival match Ihave someone blinking around the map and my bullets won't regester.

  • I think the ones they are banning are the really bad ones. Like people using a cellular hot spot. I played in a lobby with someone I suspected had a really bad connection like that. I could not even move my guardian. Input lag was over a second long.
