I believe Bungie made the comment that master working is mostly just for PvP now where a +10 to a stat could be a bigger deal. And that it is not necessary in PvE by design (well, re-design).

The only real benefit for most average players is when they need that extra stat point to push into a higher armor stat level but even then it’s a minor buff.

Not power, armor stat. Like INT, DIS or STR. Since they only register increases in increments of 10, an extra stat point can matter.

A little. The only reason to master work a weapon in PvE was for orb generation. They moved that function. I’m not thrilled about it, but I manage. Unless the plan is to eventually allow crafting of every weapon in the game I would like to see them utilize masterworking again for PvE. Maybe add an eleventh tier that is more expensive and allows you to turn one of the perks on the weapon into an enhanced perk.
