Not everyone would be happy with a game taking over 100GB up on their systems personally I dont care about size as I have plenty of additional drives but not everyone has that luxury. As for the narrative say we still had Mars as we had before then all of a sudden overnight it changes with Witch Queen for me personally it would have broken the story immersion. Also many would whinge about old desinations not recieving new content and becoming boring the DCV pushes focus on a targeted section allowing the new content to feel fuller and more fleshed out. Where speading a mere few new things here and there over a much broader game would actually feel too sparse and messy imo. Lets be honest with the Witch Queen for example theres plenty to do so the old destinations would for many be rarely played so why waste space and resources on it? Its like an adult keeping all their childhood toys, sure great for memories and nostalgia but end of the day for the most part just taking up space "collecting dust" that could be better utilised.
