The powerful archmagi, Warlock Holmes, wanders the streets this night. Despite being a great magic-user, he is dressed quite modestly. Wearing a simple suit with almost a robe-like trench coat over it. While wanders apparently aimlessly, in reality he is quite aware of a threat prowling in the night. Hoping to bring whatever is hunting to him.
Secretly, the wizard is prepared. Standing invisibility next to the illusion of himself. Quite a a good illusion to, generating images, sounds, and even a smell. Holmes himself is also adorned in a large fur cloak of magical design and his customary masked clockwork crown. He carries a wand and a magical stone that allows him to communicate with the holder of a sister stone. Also, despite also having a radio, Holmes also sent invisible familiars around the city to warn him if a more powerful threat more towards mages caliber arises in the night.
Warlock Holmes is quite a mysterious mage and has quite a lot of secrets. Powerful secrets, and potentially dangerous. One of his fears is those falling into the wrong hands.
The familiars are probably going off the charts, with an incredibly powerful being in the city. Meanwhile, a few vampires try to jump the illusion!
-
“Who art thou which ambuscade a wanderer? Why hath thou came?” Holmes makes the illusion speak. Not really concerned that he is being attacked but instead worrying more why he is being attacked.
-
They pause as he talks. “You…what…? We desire the traitor kin…and blood to feed on.”
-
Holmes makes his illusionary duplicate seem almost uninterested. Even though the prospect of feeding upon his blood has been mentioned. “Who is the leader of this pack? The one who sent you on such hunt for thy treacherous kin? If you answer I shall give you the blood you desire.”
-
“Our god of vampirism…the one who gave us this gift! Now…give us the traitor kin.”
-
“I don’t have your kin! I can give you blood if you seek, but your kin is not mine to give. Now, who is this god? The giver of your cursed gift, who may they be?”
-
“This gift is not a curse….we want the kin, or you.”
-
“Me? Well I’m flattered but….well actually I doubt you mean that way. Well, if you take me will you present me to your leader or just drink my blood right here?”
-
“Our leader needs nothing like *you*.” One tries to pounce on the illusion, getting close to hitting the real Holmes.
-
Upon the attack, Holmes will try to manipulate the illusion to appear to dodge. But, upon the near miss of his actual self, Holmes will begin to back up and cast a fly spell. Better to be above the situation. “Alright….Alright. Well if your leader doesn’t want me could you at least tell me where it is. I can give you blood if you don’t really want.”
-
The vampire slides across the ground, and another answers. “He is hidden…from your kind…”
-
“Hidden things can be found. And you are not my kind, so you can find him for me.” Holmes has the illusion respond as the real Holmes takes to the air, flying above the scene.
-
“Nobody is permitted to him…not even the traitor kin or us.”
-
“That matters not to me. You may not be able to see him, but you still could have information. Do you know where he is?”
-
“He is inaccessible…nobody can reach him.”
-
“Very well. But what does he want with this realm? Besides your traitorous kin, why is he here?”
-
“Revenge…on those who sealed him…and anyone who calls themselves ‘hero’….” The vampire coughs a bit, and holds its chest.
-
“You don’t like heros? Why? Is it just the word that irks you or the connotation behind it? Either way, not as important as my other question. Who caged your great lord? Many have been caged and banished in my time, I seem to lose track of it all.”
-
“The one who…usurped me.” The vampires voice changes to one much older. “The one who took my place…Valena. Current goddess of my vampirism.”
-
“I see. And I assume I am speaking to someone else now? Perhaps you should introduce yourself, I will go first if you wish. The names Bjartrhár, at your service.” The Illusion says with a bow. Not necessarily a lie either. Bjartrhár isn’t his real name but neither is Warlock Holmes, but instead an alias he used when traveling the planes. Being that he doesn’t necessarily want to reveal who he is, if the vampires don’t know already, it does fit.
-
“Hmph. I have no name. This world will be *mine* and….hm…that’s not normal…” he stares up.
-
“This world will be yours? Well, good being, there seems to be a problem with that. With your whole revenge plot really. It puts many innocent people in jeopardy, something that many shall not allow.”
-
“And they will fail…the old Order only caught me by surprise. This time, I’ll lure out the only person left who could kill me…and claim all my power back.”
-
“I see. And who is that individual? The one who stands between you and victory? Or is it just this kin of yours who your lackeys are searching for?”
-
“Hmph. The traitor kin Blaze is an issue….but not a large one. Who I truest want is Valena.”
