They deleted most of the content to optimise for better loading times and less space. Which is a lazy way of doing it. Rather than invest in their game. They made a bullshit excuse.

removing that amount of content, for any reason, is a bad move. and, tbh, i don't buy it. this 'its too big' is not a reason, it's a cheap excuse. many, many games have 100GB+ installs & run just fine. even D1 is bigger than D2 right now.. and it was on 360/PS3 at one point. the whole thing is jus getting thinner & thinner. gear, activities, quests & destinations have all been brutally reduced & what did we get in return? a class that breaks PvP & a raid that is, so i hear, way too easy.. oh.. and a snow planet with irritating weather.
-
Agreed, I just think they were being lazy with optimization, seeing as next gen is here now. Before they slashed the content it took about 5 mins to load in to the tower on ps4, which is unacceptable. They needed to optimise instead of cut content. Vaulting things works when it's in a game like Warframe with an economy. In destiny, vaulting is a terrible idea. It just reduces challenging end game activities. And yes, DSC is very easy. So easy that my friends completed the boss fight first try, which shouldn't happen, even if they had me talking them through it. The grandmaster nightfall on the other hand. Now that's challenging.

PS3/360 people don’t have Rise of Iron simply because they can’t run it.
-
that was a hardware thing.
-
What's your game studio called again?

this is a redundant argument. by this logic, you can't critique a film unless you've made a film. you can't criticise a dj mix, unless your a dj. you can't slag off police unless your a law enforcement officer. see the logic? or lack thereof?

There’s a difference. He’s telling Bungie what they should of done to their game, without proper knowledge on exactly what’s happening. Being a critic is fine, that’s all opinion, but acting as if the players knows the solution, when that solution wouldn’t work, then that’s where the difference is.
-
i'm not telling them what to do. i'm saying how i see it. two different things. i haven't offered 'a solution' jus an opinion on the results of their changes to the game.
-
Edited by WoofinAintEazy: 1/2/2021 5:37:47 PMNo you’re not telling them what to do, the person who’s comment we are all replying under is who I am talking about.
-
sorry. my mistake :(
-
Naw it’s all good, don’t even trip!
-
How is it bullshit? You can't possibly know how things work on bungies end. Some of you forum developers are -blam!-ing hilarious.
-
you don't need to know how to edit a film to spot a badly made movie 🤔
-
So your an expert developer then?? Thought not. 🤡
-
what has that got to do with it? i'm not telling them anything other than how i feel about the result of their changes.
-
You are comparing other games and how they work. Most of those games you talk about are probably single player games. Don't speak like an expert if you are an amateur.
-
Edited by WoofinAintEazy: 1/2/2021 4:40:30 PMNo, but you don’t also go on and tell the studio how they should of edited it, unless you know exactly how they were supposed to do so differently. That’s like me going on a construction site and telling them they’re building it all wrong, just because I think it looks wrong, but in reality it’s built that way for a reason.
-
a building & a video game are not good comparisons. like i said, i ain't telling anyone how to do anything or offering the solution, i'm simply stating what i think of the results of their changes. i don't need to know how to code to do that. did you ever criticise a film? doesn't mean your telling a director what they should change.
-
Edited by WoofinAintEazy: 1/2/2021 5:43:57 PMHow are they not good comparisons? Both take experts to build. Both have inner complications the average person doesn’t understand. You’re not understanding. You can criticize all you want, but when you start being specific on what the experts should of been doing, without knowing the inner parts going on, then you should probably take a step back and realize you might not fully understand why they made a certain decision. Like I said in a previous reply, this is in reference to the persons comment we are under replying to, not directly to what you’ve said, because you’ve given actual criticism, but without sounding like you know better!
-
Yeah, that's fair on the building point. My criticism is out of frustration more than disdain, so it's probably not as well articulated as it could be.. in places.. as usual lol
-
Haha you’re all good! Your criticism is completely fair. Like I said, you didn’t come off as someone who knows better than Bungie, which was my point towards the OP. Have a good one!
