as much as i'm eager to see the darkness arrive (finally), if it's next season, i feel like it'll be bad. For next season, we're getting "light" content. Probably more recycled content and bounty grind like we had in Dawn and Worthy (random event with repeatable weapon frames). There is barely any story in those season, at all. And to have such a HUGE lore subject about to attack us again, it can't be in a "light" dlc. And if they introduce it as a tease for the next BIG FALL update, we're going to get barely any content throughout the summer. Again, this is my thoughts after playing both games and experiencing each content drop. A threat as big as the darkness could have so much potential: new sub classes, enemies, a rework to the entire story, etc. And i DO NOT see this happen on a "light" dlc.

  • Lol keep believing that bud. Why do we always have this convo? We get it you want Savathun to come in the fall. IT’S NOT HAPPENING. D3 was suppose to come out this year per Activision. You think that was going to be about Savathun or Pyramids? It’s the easiest thing in the world right now to understand the Pyramids are coming in the fall. The signs are all there, there have been 3 DIFFERENT LEAKS saying they are coming. The entire contents of the leak may not be correct, but I GUARANTEE you the Pyramids are the fall expansion. Same shit happened with the Forsaken leak around this time 2 years ago & the Shadowkeep leak that NO ONE believed. Can’t wait till the Fall

<Oh except for the fact that Bungie wasn't going to do anything for a long, long time. A year ago, the season pass plan was brought into reality, and it was just going to be year after year after year of Dawns and Undyings over and over, introducing something to keep the playerbase semi-tied until Bungie could figure out what the -blam!- they were doing. No important thread like Savathun and the Darkness would happen for a long time. The last month or two saw plans change. Either they're rushing the story because they've given up on the game, or they are going to do something really, ungodly stupid like having us push back a force so powerful that it'd make the Reapers cry in one DLC. Which Shadowkeep leak? The one that said there was a Pyramid in the Moon? Are you kidding? Anyone with an eye for in-game architecture would've seen it coming. I saw it coming the exact moment the ViDoc came out and I saw Nightmare Ghaul standing in that unfamiliar hallway. Then I watched leak after leak saying either "Savathun this" (early) or "Typhon that" (late). None of those had a lick of truth to them except the fact that the Pyramid was in the Moon. Even further back, Forsaken. This time, April, no-May? The leak was about the Nine. That was so fake. -blam!-, Warmind didn't even come out yet and at this time we had just gotten over the part about it NOT being about Charlemagne and Frames (stuff that admittedly would've been a better story than the actual Warmind DLC). I'll admit, when the Darkness arrives, even if it's rushed, I'll probably be excited. I'll probably be praising the heavens that I get to see what I've essentially made my religious icon in-game. But there's a very specific group of paths I see this going without it sounding really, really dumb, like Warmind-level dumb. The way Worthy's been, the way even Dawn has been... I'm really doubting a lot. Anyway... I can determine with good confidence (three sigma) that next season is the Dreaming City. We'll see then what happens.>

  • All I’m saying is that the Fall expansion is going to be about the Pyramids. Idk about all the nitty gritty details, like I said not everything in the leak is true. But the setting and the enemy are most likely right, and I know they’ll be here fully in Fall. (Btw, new map with pyramids in the bunker is scary asf) What makes everyone think that them coming in the Fall means they’ll be defeated in the DLC? Since the beginning, Destiny was a sci-fi shooter that slowly over time became more and more fantasy. We are still fighting the aliens, like the Cabal. Forsaken was a turning point into bringing fantasy in the game. Even the Vex aren’t just robots. Makes sense it’s time to move the story in that direction. This will probably introduce the threat truly and that’s all. I believe there is going to be a Nine race as well. That’s still super far apart. This just makes the fray more interesting imo, instead of us seeing them coming for so long, they come and curveball us like dark gods should.

  • <It's Bungie, the likelihood that something introduced officially in a DLC will be defeated in said DLC is... well, likely. I'd hope they'd do the Darkness differently, but honestly I'd just prefer a new sandbox, a new game, -blam!-, a new ENGINE. I want these things to have a genuine, amazing, spectacular first arrival. I want whatever race or races to have free reign, new AI, new graphics that make this game and the one before look horrible by comparison. I want the City to be reduced to a crater and the Traveler SHATTERED. I want the Darkness to WIN the first time around, and the end of their first campaign to just put us on an even playing field. I want only the best for the Pyramid Armada and the God that leads them, and I just don't see that happening in D2. I'd rather this game kill Savathun and end like D1 did before it and Bungie spend YEARS making a D3. Matter and residual sales from Destiny 1/2 will power them until that happens. However, Destiny's story is limited, no matter how many times it seems like it isn't. Any attempts to step outside of that will be on the same level as the Fall of Osiris comics. That's why I hate the seasonal model (from a lore perspective), and that's why I hate injecting the Darkness while such a thing is still going.>
