Bungie, since Bright Engrams have been removed from the store, can we get back Bright Dust from Bright Engram items?
The initial statement that you were reasoning the changes made to the Bright Engrams was as follows:
"This Fall we’re changing Bright Dust from a pay- and/or play-to-earn currency to a play-to-earn reward. We’re adding Bright Dust as a reward for completing Vanguard, Crucible, and Gambit bounties. We want all players to earn Dust for playing, not for spending money and destroying a bunch of items in their inventory. After you complete all your bounties for the week, there will be an additional avenue to keep grinding out Bright Dust."
With half the argument, that being "We want all players to earn Dust for playing, not for spending money", not applying anymore, it would be reasonable to move back slightly towards the players being able to obtain Bright Dust from Bright Engrams, with the main reason being:
Obtainability
You, Bungie, clearly want us to play the game and your idea of playing the game, at least at the time the changes were made and of recent times (because recent events followed the trends), was completing bounties which earn us Bright Dust. The main way to obtain Bright Engrams, as of writing this post, is by leveling up your season pass rank, with every 5 ranks yielding a Bright Engram.
But what has that to do with you, Bungie, wanting us to complete bounties to earn Bright Dust? Well, the main way to level the season pass, is by completing bounties, since any other way to go about it is not really getting the player anywhere, so Bright Dust and Bright Engram obtainability coincide both in relying on the player to complete bounties to obtain them, which makes the previous split introduced in fall redundant.
So with both the pay to earn element being gone and the split between Bright Dust and Engrams being made redundant by the way they're obtained, I don't see why Bright Dust should not be reintroduced into their rightful home, the Bright Engram.
