No new characters created in D2 have any veteran dialog as they did not play D1. To get the veteran dialog you needed to have completed the base D1 storyline before August 2017 and then transferred them into D2 in a one time only option the first time you play D2. These characters will be at the time before D2 was released so any progress in D1 after that will not transfer.

Okay thank you. I made a brand new character for D2 and still got Veteran dialogue for a few things like shaaxs calling me a wolf and recognizing the fallen banner in the church. But my guardian played dumb when encountering the taken... nit-picky I know lol. Maybe is tied to your Bungie account.

  • I'm no tech wizard, but I thought it'd be fairly straight-forward to implement the dialogue differences. I thought all you'd have to do is link your Xbox Live account to your Bungie account. Since I play D2 on Steam, I also have this linked to Bungie. So since my Steam and Xbox accounts are linked together by my Bungie account... why can't the dialogue differences be implemented?? I don't want to have my Ghost explain who the Fallen and Taken are every time I play certain missions!! A small difference, but very irritating. Bear in mind, I did play all the expansions in D1, so it feels silly when my Ghost is playing dumb and explains everything as if nothing ever happened before...
