Please I've been asking them to add a Patrol Zone on Levithan forever now.
I think it would be cool as hell.
Imagine the lost sectors?
Story-wise they should have the Cabal fly the Levithan to the Hive-Dreadnought in an attempt to devour the Hive ship then make the combination of them a Patrol Zone.

<All the Hive would have to do is turn the ship and ram the Leviathan. The collision would blow the latter apart.>

Seeing how big the Leviathan is, I don't think ramming it with the Dreadnought would work. Plus, the complex metal design of the Leviathan would surely outlast the Hive constructs of the Dreadnought.
-
dont forget the giant cabal ship rammed into the side of the dreadnought. they would make life hard for the hive if they tried to do that.

Edited by Looseleaf: 6/28/2019 8:06:17 PMAlright, big brain time. The Leviathan The Leviathan Compared to Nessus: https://www.destinypedia.com/images/thumb/8/8a/Leviathan-Ship.jpg/800px-Leviathan-Ship.jpg Nessus Diameter = ~60.0km Let's assume the Leviathan is a perfect triangular prism with a right angle scalene triangle face for measurements. So, let's say the diameter of Nessus is about 1/3-1/4 that of the base of the prism. Therefore, the Leviathan is ~210km wide at it's base. Now the length of the Leviathan is difficult to find, because there are no good images for it. However, we can assume it's at least 210km long, as it would be longer than the length of the base. The Dreadnought The Dreadnought compared to Saturn's rings: https://pbs.twimg.com/media/CNknWa7XAAQt-Mu.jpg Saturn's Ring Thickness = ~0.975km Now it's not a great angle, but you can see that the diameter of the Dreadnought is no more than ten times the width of Saturn's rings. So at max, Dreadnought Diameter = 9.75km And the diameter of the Dreadnought is about 1/6 of the length, so at max Dreadnought Length = 58.5km Therefore, the size of the Dreadnought is considerably smaller than the Leviathan. If the face if the Dreadnought (Max 47.5km²) were to crash into the base of the Leviathan (Min 4.41×10^4) the damage would be minuscule, and would definitely not impose enough damage to be a reasonable strategy. tldr; Damn there really be people out there that still don't know how big the Leviathan actually is.

<One argument saying the Dreadnaught is around 2209 km vs dozens that say 3500 or more. You also made the mistake of basing the Nessus v Leviathan scale on concept art rather than the game. You also refused to search for the full Leviathan model, which exists and is on Artstation for anyone to look at. The Leviathan is considerably longer than it is wide, but the Leviathan's maw at its widest is less than 210. If we use the game, Nessus is half the size of the maw. That puts the front end of the ship at around 120 km which makes the length anywhere between 750 to 1500. Your Dreadnaught length would still be nearly twice the size and the other measurements people much smarter than I have done put it at three times the size I and others put the Leviathan at. The Almighty and the Dreadnaught outclass that ship easily. It's a prison ship, not some grand magnum opus of the Cabal like the Almighty.>

Realistically, I think it is be futile to argue. We really aren't able to accurately measure the length of each ship. Art, cutscenes and gameplay all show different proportions of each ship (take a look at some of the D1 cutscenes of the Dreadnought for example compared to gameplay). After looking at other people's math and observations, I've seen that some have come to similar conclusions as mine and some have drawn similar conclusion's as yours. All in all, I think in order for us to get definite values Bungie would have to release them themselves. But thanks for the prompt, it was really interesting to read up on some of these measurements. It really goes to show how huge the Destiny universe really is. :)
