I haven't used that exotic because to me it is pretty useless and I rather use much better exotics. Plus if you like to run something like Ace of Spades that creates a Solar FireFly effect, what is the point?
Making two explosions sounds more like a bug and they fixed it.
I don't know how you can use that over the way better exotics the Warlock has.

Did you see CoolGuy's video on Chromatic? He loves it and has gotten some We Ran's with it.

The two large explosions by themselves could net double and triple kills. Around 150-180 damage initially and secondary explosion for 65 More of enemies were bunched up. This is without using ace of spades. It was fun when using kinetic bows, snipers, hcs. I hope they increase damage to same values in a single explosion in the future.

Even if it was originally a bug, a couple of things spring to mind. Bungie have never acknowledged or referenced it was bugged, like they have done with all other bugged exotics in the game. And even if it was, sometimes these things are happy accidents and should be left alone :-) The only thing that made it viable was the x2 and x3 explosions. And it could certainly do some work in crucible in the right situation. And it was great in PVE in mob clearance. Right now, with its single, delayed, explosion, it is honestly an incredibly weak exotic. A real shame if it doesn't get reverted back to how it was. Let's hope Bungie pick it up and comment soon!

Year 1 exotic armour, beside Lunafactions is mostly irrelevant for Sol and Arc. Nez is still good. But compared to sitting in a well, spraying fallen in gambit with phoenix protocol, or getting a triple kill in gambit with one mag, or melting a primeval with your super? Worthless. Chromatic Fire is an incredible asset in crucible. When enemies bank up to team up, you can just hose down the crowd with bygones, and it only takes one of them to detonate, to essentially nade the rest.

Sorry triple kill in cruci* with one mag. My record now is four kills with 6 bullets

Because maybe, just maybe, people haven't been blessed with the other Warlock exotics due to unlucky RNG. And Chromatic Fire absolutely has a place in something like Gambit where you often get plenty of closely packed enemies.

The best exotics for the warlock are still year one exotics. You should have them all. The Forsaken Warlock exotics are trash.

Edited by Tritium: 11/28/2018 3:33:33 PMWell I'm only fairly new to the game mate and started with Forsaken, so I still have a lot to collect. Shockingly, not everyone has been playing since Y1. But by all means, please have a word with my three Vigilance Wings and three Eye of Another World duplicates I've gotten in the past 8 weeks. And yeah, the protocol chest and geomag boots are utterly insane (borderline overpowered) at what they do for your super.

The protocol chest piece and the geomags would like to have a word with you
