I think it serves a different purpose. There are things it excels at more, and is overshadowed at others. Uriel's is better at longer ranges, while Cuboid is better closer. The increased ADS movement makes it easier to use cover and strafing. The high caliber rounds are more beneficial at mid range encounters than closer ranges as well where you are dealing with enemies that are larger and easier to hit. If I needed to choose one or the other, it would be Uriel's almost every time regardless if it didn't have high caliber rounds. The extended range capabilities that Uriel's has makes it more versatile. While the closer mid range attributes of Cuboid is preferred for me.

  • Honestly was not expecting such a thorough breakdown—thank you. Since it can be used with Uriel’s (which I forgot to do haha) I think there’s definite versatility to it. The longer range scope seems, to me, to make it seem like a long range accessory to Uriel’s. However just as you said, it performs better at close range. I don’t know if I’d choose it over Uriel’s (not that I’d have to) but I found it interesting to compare the two.

  • I haven't watched your video yet. (In car trip). Despite having my favorite sight in destiny 1, the longer range hit registration just doesn't seem to work as well as the Uriel's. I typically use a kinetic counterbalance with Cuboid, but it still seems to feel like it has a smaller hitbox than Uriel's. I used Cuboid with Uriel's for an entire raid on my titan with the rig exotic. Also used that combo in PvP for an extended period of time to feel them out. I prefer Cuboid over origin story in PvP, but rampage makes origin story on titan with a rig exotic more useful in PvE.

  • I honestly didn’t think of using the Actium War Rig but that’s a good point. I honestly am just not a huge fan of Uriel’s. I prefer the Jiangashi (don’t ask me why but it just feels smoother). But I’ll definitely have to try pairing cuboid with one or the other. I wanted to go with a hand cannon with the cuboid for the video because I feel like that’s the ideal load out when using the lucky pants. The video is mostly me running around laughing at my own terrible jokes so watch at your own risk haha

  • I like jiangashi over Uriel’s as well The issue with this game is you can’t really gauge how well weapons perform bc connections have a higher influence than the loadouts or skill

  • The Uriel's makes good use of tap the trigger at range, with the most aim assist of the class, giving it the longest range ability in the class. I like the Jiangashi, it has good stability, but the most recoil stat of the bunch. The stability rating makes flinch a little less pronounced, and I feel it is a good option for more aggressive play. It doesn't have as much range ability a Uriel's, which leads the class with its high aim assist and tap the trigger combination. The use of high caliber rounds also makes it difficult to combat against when you get the first shot.

  • Yeah high cal is definitely the “determining factor” in this. I do think that with an energy mod the jiangashi is really competitive. However, it’s still very important to get the first shot (which is something I struggle with)

  • Even with an energy counterbalance mod with the Jiangashi, there is more vertical recoil than on other 450 autos in the class that restricts its range capabilities. The recoil is less consistent than all other 450 autos. With Uriel's, I like to use an energy handling mod over a counterbalance mod (which is unnecessary on the Uriel's).

  • Ahh that’s interesting. I’ve almost always gone with recoil mods for when using an auto rifle rather than a handling mod. I may have to try that

  • The 450 weapon class uses the precision frame, which essentially has a counterbalance mod already. With the use of tap the trigger on Uriel's, it makes it an even tighter grouping. The weakness of Uriel's is handling, especially with the flash sight. If I remember correctly, the Cuboid doesn't use the precision frame...
