Arcstrider Tips (Showcase) - They aren't underpowered

I've seen a lot of threads on the forums about Arcstriders being weak and needing a buff. What people need to realize is: - Their grenade can charge faster than all other grenades in the game (Combat Meditation.) I get mine back so quick that my neutral game is quite strong. I keep myself at 2-3 recovery to get good benefits from this - Their dodge charges faster than the other hunters (Focused Breathing) - You are [b]harder to hit[/b] when using dodge - They sprint faster than most classes - Your melee disorients people when you punch them I've included some 45 second videos below showcasing how to use Arcstrider during its super. My advice is: [b]pick your engagements wisely.[/b] You cant pop the super a mile away and chase your opponent. Pop it when your opponent is cornered, then use your dodge to close the gap between you and your enemy. Also, do not pop it when there are more than 2 guardians that can team shoot you. This is common sense with all sub classes, but people seem to forget... Lastly, I've been seeing lots of success when I use the Dragon's Shadow chest piece. I put an arc grenade mod on it and this helps my neutral game a lot. Some people have told me that dodging during the super boosts your speed as well.   • This^ takes skill to use and master. Majority hunters complain because they lack the knowledge and skill to use the way of the wind 😒. What would be cool is if combination blow worked with super kills as well.

  • Go watch the video that shows arcstrider running alongside other classes in super. Even the floofy stormcaller moved faster. Also none of this applies to pve.

    • Strider is pretty awesome. I didn’t use AB in D1 unless I absolutely “had to”. It was a scrub class that only the chumps enjoyed. Strider is awesome in PvE. The super, with the exotic chest, lasts forever. I have enough gas in the tank to kill a heroic PE and then a yellow HVT, happened on Io a lot last night. It could use a bit more speed when swinging the staff because it does feel a little slow. In PvP I really haven’t run a Hunter much but if I do I’ve learned that Strider isn’t my best option due to the map designs and current weapon favorites so I stuck with GG.

    • I'm just going to lay this out here as a heavy blade dancer in D1 and disappointed Arcstrider in D2: -movement speed even as add-ons mods is trash in this game *PERIOD*. You can outrun a Titan minimally but that titan's recovery and resistance is going to win heads down in a gunfight and if they cover for 4 second, they can hit back to full health. -relative to arc for all other classes..it is garbage! Fist of Havoc requires a pretty high jump fast and we all know about Warlock. Best enemy against an arcstrider? Jumping and hovering in the air or the infamous jumping backwards! -melee is not a game hunters want and less viable in D2: its called Antiope and it eliminates most of the running to an opponent unless its Warlock and Titan that answer should be apparent with Titan complicating the answer with exotic pieces. The big problem with Crucible and Arc for hunters is its a fireteam killing session. D1 and D2 hunters typically strive on one-offs and gunfights but you're better off with Gunslinger or Void if that's the case. A ton of players can get that precision hit on gunslinger off nowadays and void is seeing an uptick of inv>>>sidearms/smg hit and run tactics. Basically, arcstrider is pretty garbage for PvP and PvE and its far less exciting of a class than any of the others.

    • I just want the super to be faster because stormcaller and striker are faster while in super. Hunters are are a mobility class so why not make them faster than all the other roaming supers?

          • Only use the super when you have one enemy cornered? If they are cornered just shoot em. Or use a nade. Everything you said makes me think its weaker now.

            • I’ve seen people pop their arcstrider at medium to medium -long range then charge me. It’s hilarious to kill them with small arms fire. About as funny as a Titan popping barrier and me firing a rocket into their barrier to get them killed. People overestimate the class abilities.

              • With the top subclass you get unlimited melee’s that do extra damage and reach further and unlimited rolls as well to close the gap

                • That’s how I try to use it. Sometimes it works exceedingly well. Others you get mowed down doing the same thing. I think peoples issues with it is that it’s not usable in all situations. Not a lot of the other supers are either, but are easier to utilize or have a ranged option. So if you’re not in a position to use it, you usually can’t. You end up in a lot of those in competitive/Trials IMO. But completely agree on using way of the wind. It’s neutral is very strong and fun. Probably my favorite Hunter subclass right now.
