Other than that... this is a vanilla restart to Destiny. Just better.
You have a pretty weak definition of the term "better".
No random perk rolls or strike-exclusive gear to add replayability. A hard raid that feels underwhelming because it doesn't actually grant any new gear like in the past. Persistent balancing problems. A PvP where you can't pick the mode you want to play...
When you really break it down, Destiny 2 has taken MANY steps backwards from D1.
D1 was Bungie's opportunity to learn from their mistakes and improve on the forumula so they can make a satisfying experience for the sequel. Instead, they dropped the ball. Very, very hard.
It has nothing to do with entitlement. It has everything to do with customers having valid complaints about a flawed product.

The story was better. The game is easier for casuals, people without time, or new players. Random rolls being gone is NOT a bad thing really. Static rolls aren't terrible. They are just different. At least I know when I get an Origin Story, it isn't going to suck. Never. I like that legendary weapons are treated kinda the same as exotics. Once you have it. You have it. Nothing wrong with that. I think what everyone's real problems are is the fact that Bungie wasn't transparent about all the changes before release. So everyone had expectations way too high and Bungie didn't do anything to keep that from being a problem. Well it's probably Activision's fault on that one now that I think about it. They were probably afraid if everyone knew all the changes ahead of time they'd lose sales.

Edited by Swiftlock: 10/21/2017 6:16:05 AMNah. People expecting a sequel to be more fleshed out and satisfying than its predecessor isn't having "'high expectations". That's perfectly normal and fair.

Well. I think it was expected for this kind of game. And I do think hardcore players expected too much. Especially when Bungie made hints during development that the game would be better for casual players. I think a lot a people just want too much. If people can just be content with having enough instead of always wanting to consume consume consume... always more more more... we wouldn't be having this conversation at all. lol.
