I'm sorry but I can't read this.
You say you're complaining, yet put it in quotations like you haven't done that.
Admit you did something or don't. Otherwise your opinions are less than nothing

Or maybe you can read between the lines and understand that it's not what I'm saying. That I'm actually trying to make logical and reasonable posts, and people just keep chalking it up to "complaining". And that's why I'm making this post, to try and get people to stop and behave with some civility to their fellow human beings before they write everyone off for having an observation of possible issues in the new game. Maybe before judging, do some thinking.
-
I'm talk about your previous posts. But apparently those don't exist right?
-
Uh, if I believed that they didn't exist, why would I refer to them as being "complaint" posts? By the way, those aren't quotation marks as in I used the word complaint, they're quotation marks for sarcasm. Look, the basic gist of it is that I'm not complaining, I'm trying to be reasonable and logical. I included that part to show that people have said I'm just complaining, but I'm really not. How about this? What if I went back and edited the beginning of my post? What if after saying "complaining" I added the following: (even though I wasn't I was just trying to logically present my concerns). Would that make it better for you? Would that make it easier for you to read between the lines? Or will you still not understand subtlety?

Probably not. Especially when the condescending tone lingering here. Look, I do agree with most of what you say, however, there's many key points & I'll only list the 2 biggest ones: - Not even Beta is out, meaning we STILL don't know what perks exist. And, as we've seen, perks can drastically alter damn-near anything. - People usually play what they are comfortable with. That's why, throughout different Metas, people still use some odd things. It's also how No-Fun Police got popular too. Yes, you're concerned. And in all honesty, you have the right to be; same on the other end, people crazy hyped have a right to be crazy hyped. But literally EVERYONE posting ANY opinions are guessing. You know the flames are toxic here. So why not wait until something is solid? For all we know, A.Strider could deal crazy amounts of damage while also giving +15 armor, and the perk all filter into the super. ~ That's nearly the opposite of how Bladedancer is usually used now.
-
I'll make these two observations because so many people are trying to shut down discussion with your same thought that anybody talking about things is guessing. 1 - There is a LARGE difference between guessing and making an informed hypothesis. We haven't seen nothing, we've seen quite a bit of Dawnblade and Striker and Gunslinger, and we've even seen a lot on Sentinel. And if the fact that what we do have on Arcstrider looks underwhelming ISN'T enough, then we can also look at Striker having damage over time being added to the melee only super for indication that Bungie is fully willing to make subclasses that are severely underpowered in endgame material to see that Arcstrider will likely follow the way of Bladedancer. 2 - Whether or not beta is out is a terrible argument because waiting until that time to make a case is too late. If we're generous and say that beta will come out earlier than anticipated (which people are saying should be about 17th of July) and say that it's the beginning of July, that leaves about 2 months until launch. The last month of that time will likely be used for production of hard copies and global distribution. Which leaves only a month for work. And most of that time will be used up on beta bugs. Map glitches, weapon glitches, enemy glitches, ability glitches, and animation glitches will be the main focus, so beta will be far too late to get a discussion started on Arcstrider. So making a hypothesis (and hey, even looking at multiple outcomes and assessing what would happen from each, like I've been doing) is actually very important to start doing sooner rather than later. So no, we don't know anything, but your completely uneducated guess at the end there is different from my observations of the footage shown at the reveal. And discussing the worst possibilities is a GOOD idea so that can stem those off and make sure that Destiny 2 is as good as it can be. And the reason there's a "condescending tone" to my posts? Because I keep having to teach these principles to people who don't think about them, so people assume I'm talking down when I'm really just trying to educate.
-
That is EXACTLY what I mean. I said I agree with most points; but you STILL have to argue. That's why I posted originally. I also find it hilarious you pretty much said you don't need proof (Beta) to know how Strider will be. Lmao. Ok. Keep on with your "educated guess" then. Especially with no proof. Combine that with the fact the Bungie that made all of this 3 years ago with an entirely different group of people. An educated guess means you'd have some degree of accuracy. An entirely new group working on something that started 3 years ago leaves a LOT of room for errors

Maybe the reason I need to keep arguing is because you keep missing the mark. Firstly, I'm not saying I KNOW how Strider will turn out, I'm saying that it is possible to take an educated and informed look and come to possible conclusions about what could go right and what could go wrong, and that observing and pointing out the ways it could go wrong is not only viable but important. And the "no proof" that I have? Is the footage we've seen of Arcstrider. It's right there. On the internet. It's easy to find, easy to see, and easy to understand the possible issues. Then add to that the way that they are treating Striker, and the historical data on the way that they worked Bladedancer, which is compounded by the fact that the subclasses so far are sticking either to the same theme as before or to different subclasses (Dawnblade being mostly a remake of Sunbreaker instead of Sunsinger) and you can see that there's lots of evidence pointing towards there being the same issues as the past. You're not going to shut me up by saying that I keep talking therefore I must have issues. You keep talking too, you don't see me attacking the fact that you keep writing back. I'm sticking to your arguments and how poor they are. Also, saying that everybody is guessing and we should all WAIT really undermines saying "I do agree with most of what you say". Its like saying "I like what you've said, but nobody knows anything, so nobody should be saying anything, including you." So don't come at me with "I just said I agreed with you, and yet you have to keep arguing" because you aren't any good at agreeing with me either. Oh, and another thing, there's one point I didn't even pick up on when I first read it because I was so flabbergasted by the mental gymnastics required to say one thing and then the other, but hey, to show you how ridiculous your inconsistency is, let me point it out now. You say that upping the damage and adding armor to the subclass would be different to the way the subclass is used now... but that doesn't change the playstyle, that doesn't change the mechanics, that doesn't change the range or the perks, it only changes the math. It doesn't make it "nearly the opposite of how Bladedancer is usually used now" at all, rather it keeps it to the exact same use but makes it more powerful.

There's so much I can prove, but there's no point, as I stated before. The biggest issue is you think playstyle is concrete. If you dig a hole & say "this is the biggest hole" while refusing to look at any other holes; you are technically right I your own way, because you'll only see your hole. Because if I wanted to read passive aggressive insults at me, I'd watch politicians "debate". So I'm done with this. There no talking to you. Just like most others here, you talk, but refuse to hear, when someone agrees with you. And that is exhausting.

Edited by eternalazhrei: 6/7/2017 9:21:24 PMIf I'm guilty of it, so are you, because you've said the words, but not demonstrated it. And once again, I don't believe anything is concrete. Never have. I've actually considered several holes, noticed snakes in the bottom of one, and am pointing it out to other people. And when people question me and say there's no snakes, I'm point out where Bungie has ignored snakes in the past and seem to be doing it again. So if I'm focused on one hole, maybe there's a reason. Snakes. Also, if you look back at the posts of this thread of ours, here's been the main points of each: Yoder: Don't put quotations around complaining, admit that was what you were doing. Eternal: I wasn't complaining, the quote are there for sarcasm. Yoder: So your previous posts don't exist? Eternal: They do exist, once again, I'm saying that they weren't about complaining. Yoder: Well really, I agree with most of what you say in said complaining posts, but you really shouldn't be talking about this stuff. You've really got NO idea. Eternal: I'm basing everything I'm saying off of the evidence Bungie has provided, and now is the BEST time we even have to talk about it, because the longer we leave it the less time there is. Yoder: Oh my goodness, I can't believe you're still arguing with me. Can't you see any side but your own? Do you see why I've been arguing with you, Yoder? Do you see why I've been defending my position?
