I'm just excited since it gets us one step closer to Kong vs Godzilla. And all other monsters included with them. I'm just pumped for modern monster brawls.
Also who cares about massive character development? It's a god damn monster brawl movie. If you go into it expecting anything else and you're disappointed, that's your own fault

Just because it's a monster movie that doesn't mean that you get to spend no time on characters. Characters are the driving fire of the movie, skipping out on proper development of them is an atrocity, monster movie or not.

But let's be honest here, did you see this movie for human characters or to see King Kong fighting monsters?
-
Obviously you're going for King Kong, but the people that incite things in the movie should be well-made, and there's absolutely no excuse for slacking on them.

Imo I thought the characters were developed enough for what the movie was. I'm kinda glad it was reminiscent of old monster films and not try to be some Oscar masterpiece

I personally never saw the movie, I'm just throwing in my two-cents on underdeveloped characters in monster movies, because I have the debates a lot. I'll have to check out Kong and see how I like it.

You should definitely see it. I can see the reasoning in your opinion but you'd have to just see it to get what I'm saying.

I didn't expect deep characters but I was happy to see they were a little more like-able than the 2014 Godzilla.
