Yes i'm a salty hunter, but they did this last time. They nerfed BladeDancer last Crucible patch with little to NO reason why. It nearly killed the subclass"
Nearly killed the subclass? That's why most of us still used blade dancer right? Because they nearly killed the subclass? Night stalker became the rage for a while until we all realized we were wrong and blade was still best. You don't even know how it will actually work in game.

Tell me, why do you think people use BladeDancer nowadays? - It's not Blink, that's on Warlocks. - It's not Quickdraw, that's also on Warlocks - It's not the incredibly inconsistent super, Stormcaller and Hammer are better - It's not the melee, Warlocks have better melee - It's not the max agility, Titans can skate faster - It's not the Increased Control/ bones of eao combo, Nightstalker is far more a better choice The only thing keeping this subclass at a semi-competitive level is the skip grenade/ shinobu vow combo. That's it. So yes. My point still stands. The April Update made this class very situational, and they aren't addressing the problems. Instead, we are getting unnecessary changes. We are rightfully salty, whether it turns out ok or not. It's not fair that any subclass node should be changed because Josh was "frustrated" by it.

Edited by TheRainstate: 2/10/2017 8:48:32 PMHow about you post the same stupid thing you did in your original post that will totally make your point more valid. FFS In response I use it when its a close quarters map or when we are playing Rift or the combo of both as Blade in my opinion is best because you can wipe an entire team before they even realized WTF happened just happened. Here is a prime example of what I'm talking about http://xboxclips.com/IRainstater/36ce3e33-2273-47db-9193-858ad5a74e19 I use Nightstalker when the map is more open. I use Gunslinger for fun but in the same instances I would use Nightstalker. We have multiple sub classes for a reason. Think Overwatch, if you only play Hanzo your a worthless teammate.

The Overwatch example isn't how i see Destiny. I use BladeDancer no matter the map, and use it effectively. It doesn't matter if it's short or long range, it's not going to keep you from other supers. The clip just showed a super going off. If there was a Nova Bomb, a Striker, 2 shotguns at the ready or even a quick sniper, that wouldn't have happened. As i said, Blade is situational. Under certain conditions, its effective and quick. But that could have been a hammer or a stormcaller and it would be no different. You don't need to change subclasses. It can provide a more tactical approach to an encounter if you switch between the three, but I main Blade and i use it where i think it's effective. Most of the time i'm right, and that's because i've adjusted to the Blade Bungie "intended" it to be (Back in april). But instead of fixing the issues with the subclass, they changed a crucial perk just to f*ck with us more, so maybe you can see why so many people are upset. There's no reason for Bungie to change inoffensive perks because it "frustrated Josh". That's my point. End of story. TL;DR My fingers hurt. I don't really know what we are debating, but it's not really the point of my mini rant. Bungie shouldn't change things because it "frustrated Josh".

Edited by TheRainstate: 2/10/2017 9:33:54 PMSo long of the short of what you said is you do the same thing over and over again every game expecting to always have good results instead of plying smart and changing up your build to try and better your chances at succeeding. Not sure why people like your self in a game like destiny that you know the Meta will change refuse to adapt and prefer to stagnate by only using one subclass. Again my Hanzo Overwatch example stands. People unwilling to adapt breed in their own weakness to a team and then cry when things don't go their way or when the Meta shifts against their favor. My video was to prove a point that you can wipe a team as a blade when played smart and not even get touched. With your super alone you cant wipe a team as a gunslinger or as a Nightstalker. Also shotguns are going to have a harder time killing a blade than before. Do I think the nerf was needed? Hell no. Will it kill the class? Doubt it and its to soon to tell anyways because NONE OF US HAVE HAD THE CHANCE TO PLAY IT. I will wait to pass judgment on this nerf until after i have had plenty of time to make a sound decision on if it actually had a crushing negative effect. All you are doing is theory crafting and assuming it does.

Tbh i'm not doing anything but complaining about Bungies logic of choosing what to change and tweak. "Don't make me Queenbreak you" is my motto, and I stand by it. It ain't meta, but i use it for everything. Shotgunning, sniping and all middle engagements. It works because it's my style. Put an auto rifle in there and you got me. So back to Overwatch i guess, I'd use Tracer on every map on every team, whether we got no healers or too many tanks. I do me, and i don't care to switch. Is that so wrong? Not really. I'm just not using a lot of tactics in my decisions. But it works for me. As i said, Overwatch is a bad example because you can't just main one character. You can main one subclass in Destiny. There are perks you can choose and alter to suit your needs. I don't see the purpose of cheesiness with Wombo Combo or sucking with Golden Gun which i'm terrible at. That's just me. TL;DR Wow i've talked about my game style a lot.

Edited by TheRainstate: 2/10/2017 9:48:24 PMI hear you on the logic of them making the change. It seems uncalled for. To your comment earlier on my video clip.
If there was a Nova Bomb, a Striker, 2 shotguns at the ready or even a quick sniper, that wouldn't have happened. As i said, Blade is situational. Under certain conditions, its effective and quick. But that could have been a hammer or a stormcaller and it would be no different.
Hungering blade would not have saved me if any one did anything you listed, both now or after the patch. Yes Stormcaller and and Hammer may have been better. In most cases they would have just ran away. Blade is quite and sneeky perfect for that situation they didnt even hear me pop my super unlike the crash of hammers. Regardless though I main a hunter so I have to use what i have available to me. I wanted to wipe their team. I did and out of my 3 options the only one that would have was blade.

Let's be honest now. If i were there with Queenbreakers, there would have been no one to kill because they'd be dead quicker than you could swipe. :P jk of course, lets agree to agree to whatever we just discussed. I'm sure it was riveting and informative to both parties. jk again, i see your point on the whole subclasses and "be sneaky" with blade is its effective in those scenarios.
-
Word and I agree with you that the nerf seems unwarranted. Guess we will see how this all plays out.
-
To be fair, most people that are using blade are doing it for the double skip love. I still like the class, and use it fairly often, especially for CoE. In PvE specifically, I see the change as a positive; I can't count how many times I tried to regen off a clutch Blade and got it, only to be tagged by a single shot and regain almost nothing. In PvP, I think a lot of it will depend on how closely stacked the enemies are, and how you make your approaches. I generally still have had good luck with it in recent months, but we'll have to see how things play out. I'm on a 'stalker kick right now anyways though.
-
I use it for two reasons. Skips with Shinobi and to be able to wipe a team on close quarters maps. I use Nightstalker for maps that are more open. My blade build is for close quarters. Hand cannon, Shotgun, w Shin and skips. T12 300/300/120 My stalker is for Everything else and is for versatility and team play. Pulse/Scout with Fusion or Sidearm T12 240/240/240
-
Hear that, I run 2-5-5, hand cannon or pulse with stalker, generally with a fusion. Blade, I always run shotgun and hand cannon, 5-1-5 with fast twitch and hungering blade, and bones for mobility.
-
... Guess i'm the only Blade around these parts that Blinks still huh...
-
To be honest, I haven't used Blink in a long time. It has the advantages of invulnerability, or at least amlost impossibility of targeting you during the animation, and extreme disorientation for an attacker in close quarters. The reasons why I don't use it; the audible cue of someone blinking near me gives me ample warning to reposition into an area where their jump will be ineffective or detrimental to them. Firing at someone at the top of a Blink is more hit-or-miss than a Bones boost. The legendary speed of Blink has effectively been removed over the last 2 years. If you miss a Blink, you're grounded for a couple seconds, essentially. the Recovery penalty keeps you out of fights longer, even if you're not Blinking. You can't change directions while in mid-blink. I suppose I could go on with this or that, but those specific reasons combined with the way I play simply don't connect with each other. I've been using Bones and Increased Control for quite a while now, and the extreme mobility it offers is a clear favorite for me. It's actually to the point where I'm sacrificing Shadestep for Bones and Keen Scout, because of the way it enables me to move. But the important point is, that doesn't make what I like better or worse than what you like. If you like it, and it's working for you, then it's the best thing in the world.
-
Yeah, pretty much dude. I couldn't imagine playing without Blink, so i just became really adamant to all the stupid decisions they made with Blink and... yeah :P
