I really liked the story but I see what you mean when they didn't focus on much outside of the bonding arc. Regardless you have to admit it's not bad or really disappointing. Just not what I had fully anticipated.
My pet peeve was that Cooper only spoke to BT. Anytime someone else spoke he was silent for no reason. Give me my characterization dammit

Only mildly disappointing, I still found the campaign's story good. Cooper spoke to Blisk, Lastimosa, and the 6-4. He's just a reserved character at most times.

Still I didn't thinks it was enough.
after BT is destroyed and your running around with the smart pistol, what's-her-name is on the comma trying to get in touch with you but he's still silent. Even when BT is destroyed there's no "nooooooo!!" Or "BT no! Don't go!" or anything dramatic like that
-
Having a 'nooooooo' over BT's death would be over dramatic and cliche. I'm glad they didn't go that route.
-
i don't mean like a Darth Vader style "NOOOOOooooOOO" but just something to show he's actually a person and not just a floating pair of arms
-
Ah, got you now. I was going full on Vader in my mind...
-
He's too angry and in the middle of avenging BT when Sara calls, or at least that's what I thought. And when BT dies, he's being thrown, he's probably shocked and out of breath, not to mention terrified.
you can make those excuses for any silent protagonist. I absolutely loved having dialogue choices in an fps but it seems like they couldn't make up their minds if they wanted cooper to be a fleshed out character or not. Bugs me

I think it was an intentional decision, he just wasn't an outspoken character. But maybe you're right.
