Fuck the Smart Pistol. Can't believe there are actually people who like it and defend it's existence.
I found the factions to be kind of a mirror of Star Wars. The IMC are akin to the Empire, the Militia are akin to the Rebels, Titans are vaguely like Jedi/Sith (Kings of the battlefield), and the Fold Weapon was a mimicry of the Death Star.
Story wise, TF 2 felt like Halo. People living on the outer colonies rebel against the core worlds, so a galactic civil war starts—UNSC vs Insurectionists/IMC vs Militia. A new breed of warrior is developed for a swift victory—Spartan Program/Titans, and an ancient super weapon that will change the tide of battle is discovered—Halo Rings/Fold Weapon.
I enjoyed the story, but it didn't feel original which is why Respawn put Jack and BT's bond at the forefront and everything else back, I think.

The only thing that reminded me of Star Wars was General Marder. He reminded me of that guy, I don't remember the name, but he was Vader's right hand soldier. Grand Moff Tarkin, I think.

The smart pistol is situational, not even that good
-
The smart pistol is not that great. Amped weapons will get you more kills reliably.

Until you get an amped smart pistol through Dice Roll :D
-
Dice roll op and I love it
-
That's possible? :o

It's like the Kraber, then. It kills in one hit anyway.
