Disclaimer: I don't know Max, have never spoken privately with Max, and in no way am trying to speak for him. This is just the perspective from a random forum lurker who has irrationally kept up with this drama.
Based on the content of a couple of Max's posts, I'm going to guess that the two of you share very different views on death, repentance, sins/confessions, etc. I have a feeling that that difference makes the loss of a loved one a much bigger struggle for him and makes it difficult for the two of you to connect empathetically over similar situations involving the subject.
I like Max's posts; I also usually like yours as well. I can understand both of your perspectives about the hashtag. I think it's a small and silly thing to be upset about, but sometimes those are the things that you hold onto when you feel like your life is falling apart.
In my opinion, if I were you, I'd just give it up. Any audience you continue to attract from it will likely be down voters who only want to see Max's posts. Anybody who likes your stuff can follow your tag, and you can pull in new viewers with the holidays while leaving the drama behind.

Its like...god I'm reaching here. Marvel studios being praised for making the amazing spiderman after the amazing spiderman was made with that sh***y studio. Maybe its just me getting too much sleep today, but my brain can't come up with a proper analogy, as tbh here, I really just want this to be public about how I tried to make things up to him, but in some...ridiculous way? He blatantly ignores all attempts on the human sides and protects this like a business project, even though they're just forum ripoff news articles... All I can really say though. I have atleast 2 more planned, then after that, I have things in my own life to worry about, I wish him well on his novel but considering anything good in the way of science fiction is knocked out of the spotlight with todays YA feminist finger fests, I can't see it being something I'll hear about, but more power to him.
