My "best" game changes depending on my mood.
But you can never go wrong with oger tactics. Though if a PSO game was released in the west again that would probably be top for some time.

I know, but I'm bored and trying to waste 8 minutes so I can clock out.

What did you mean by PSO?

Phantasy star online. The online multiplayer version of the sage Genesis series titled phantasy star. At the time camera and combat were pretty awesome, though it has aged horribly. Still it had some neat concepts for its game at the time.

I use to run that game back on dreamcast. The game was pretty impressive and could be a bit of a grind trying to get some of the weapons. Building up the mags was a nice little touch too. I had always hoped they would branch further out with the game too. Unfortunately most of the ones that followed were very lack lustre.

Edited by PizzaMan725: 11/17/2016 11:51:41 AMYeah, I played the original on dreamcast as well. And then bought the ep1 and 2 version that released on the GameCube. Which I enjoyed as it was the first game and then a addition to that. But the spinoff that did release in the west didn't continue after that. We got the C.A.R.Ds game and then Phantasy star universe.

I miss that game so much =[. I played on schthacks server for quite some time too.

I tired playing the game cube version just the other month. But the controls and camera are sooooooo stiff it is really hard to play. It would be awesome if Sega had released PSO2 in the west. As I just don't feel like setting everything up to trick their server with a eastern IP, and then getting a translation software as I only know a little Kanji. I've thought about doing a copy in Unreal for some time, but I need to update my PC to get that project going.

Have you played pso2? It wasn't that hard to get in. The stupid kanji captcha was annoying, but everything else was easy. Most text was translated. The combat was very fluid, and the control over skills was pretty nice. There was a lot of neat stuff in the game...but..even still, it just was missing something. The anime style is too over done in it, and it almost makes it kind of annoying in a sense. The older games kinda felt like...unique in terms of style. Pso2 has some generic art in it imo. The Hucasts are ugly as hell. It's kinda hit or miss. But...the fact that it wasn't formally all in english could totally bias my opinion, and I only had 1 friend I played with. In the old game, it felt. Pretty dope to do missions, interact with npcs, find secret missions, areas, and over all lots of stuff to it, although combat was hella dated. An actual English release woulda been awesome. It might have gave the same sensation the old game did.

Played it through a budy but never put it on my PC, plus I watched a lot of videos on it. I didn't mind the art style but I agree that the Hicasts didn't look good. For me it was the bother of setting everything up that stopped me from enjoying it fully. No idea why Sega never released it, maybe sales for the others were too low for them. Plus it was Web based and not on console so that could have been another reason. Especially since the western market is dominated by FPS sales.
