What if it's a prequel, like witnessing the Fall and maybe get some question answered? Does that still make sense to carry over? [i](Other than "dying" on the highway only to be resurrected centuries later)

I'm kind of OK with it.
I'd be annoyed if the characters we made were actually customized more and named and all of that. I tend to grow attached to my various avatars.
But the Destiny avatars are pretty shallow: I've [u]re[/u]rolled my Hunter and Titan 2x each.
Very little customization and only a handful of armor-sets to choose from so we look fairly similar. And the only real stat modifiers are random pieces of gear we wear, instead of painstakingly choosing if we put our XP into Dexterity or Charisma.
Sure, some will get pissed. Legitimately.
And some are just looking for a reason to leave, which I don't blame.

If the prequel is the way they decide to go, I think they still owe it to people to let them know their Guardians won't move forward or they need to stop charging for personalization
