Jesus yes, she's still my top played character in the game with 26 hours...
I've said this at least 20 times but, Blizzard will Nerf any character that takes skill before they Nerf characters that don't take skill like Genji, Pharah and Tracer.
Widowmaker was fine one shotting tracers and she was fine with the charge up time. But hey, instead of buffing one of the few characters that takes skill, lets increase Hanzo's arrow speed...

I think Widow would be fine if her body did 140 damage. A good widow would be able to follow up a tracer kill, and if tracer was just poking around a corner, then she shouldn't be killed just form a body shot. If she out in the open... Well that's a different story Secondly, those three characters take a fair amount of skill. Tracer takes a fair big of awareness and timing, Genji is probably the most technical and mechanical person in the game, and Pharah takes a good amount of motor skill and awareness as well
-
See you had me with the Widowmaker bit, then you said the three characters I mentioned took skill, then ya lost me. Especially with the Tracer part...
-
Well for me that's true. My favorite character in the game is Roadhog. He's durable, he has some range, and he can definitely pack a punch. I make a decent tracer, just because I'm a very jumpy and twitchy person overall. But I make THE worst Genji because I can't find out how to use his abilities correctly. And my Pharah is probably even worse. I always forget to press the jet button, or I forget that I'm inside a building, so I just boost into the ceiling, which is pretty comical... Until I die. The point is, some people are much better with some characters. The people who are good with certain characters, are good because they have practice and knowledge of that character. I know they're annoying (Tracers are the bane of my existence as a Roadhog), but that doesn't mean they need a nerf because some people are very good at them. Sometimes I think Symmetra needs a nerf because she melted me with her turrets, but that's just me being mad, so I just learn how to counter her (sometimes playing the bane of your existence helps you know how they'll play or react) So just learn to beat those characters... Well all get here eventually TL;DR: Characters are annoying. I know. They're annoying because the player knows how to be annoying with them. Learn to counter those players

He's right about the whole thing. Tracer is completely fine, Genji did get a nerf and Pharah, while not too difficult to use, isn't entirely braindead simple.
-
I don't see how they aren't simple to the rest of you. Even the PC community thinks they're simple.
-
You say that as if the PC community means more than the console community.
-
I say that because of how our play styles are different.
-
I play both Xbox and PC, so it doesn't bother me either way. I can agree that Tracer and Pharah are pretty easy, but Genji is on a different level than those two, at the very least.
-
To each their own, but majority of the people on Blizzard's forums say that he takes minimal amounts of skill. Especially in response to threads about how Nerf.
-
Hanzo got a nerf on console. Whilst on pc increasing projectile speed and reducing projectile size may balance each other out, forcing players to be more accurate on console is a nerf.
-
They reverted the projectile nerf and increased it again. That's why the sudden influx of Hanzo players again since that patch.
-
Well wtf have I been doing. Thank you very much.
-
I mean, (This is from a Tracer / Mercy main) The widow nerf wasn't meant for Tracer, it just applied to her, it wasn't really fair to Zenyattas as they didn't have movement abilities, so they were easily killed by Widowmakers. But the Health buff could have solved this easily, so the damage probably just was the easiest solution in the developers minds at the time
-
And it's time to change her back.
-
Pharah is best waifu
-
Pharah falling from the sky is one of the most beautiful sights ever.
-
It takes a lot of skill to be good with genji. Its quite easy to rack up two kills, but not everyone is Seagull with him either. See what i mean?
-
I killed 3 people with a deflect from Genji... I don't see why people think he requires so much skill. He's easier to use than reaper.
-
Probably because the vast majority of people who try to use him utterly fail with him, and his kit cant be used to the fullest although high mechanical skill.
-
I don't see anyone ever failing with Genji, it's like saying people can fail with Bastion, he's too easy to use to fail. Everyone plays the same with him, if a Genji player isn't constantly jumping around, then he's constantly running left to right.
-
What are you talking about? Bastions fail literally all the time. If you are playing anywhere above the lower-mid-range of skill bastions get absolutely melted at every turn. He only does good for the immediate pick or a tricky flank when the enemy doesn't expect it, afterwards, the enemy team almost always melts him. And you say "moving left to right" as if that's something you shouldn't be doing with all characters. Thats called strafing, if you aren't doing that regularly you are much more likely to die. Jumping is the same, if ever possible jumping constantly is a great way to extend your life with every character. Its not exclusive to genji. As far as genji is concerned, he's not that easy to use effectively. If you are playing low-skill matches then yes he'll do well because people cant counter him worth a crap. But in the middle and higher tiers of play he's not at all useful unless the person using him knows exactly what he's doing. 4/5 times they just spam shurikena, get no headshots and fail to know when to disengage, I probably see only 1 good genji every 4 or 5 games. (if I were a top tier player that would be more often I'm sure, because they can use him much more effectively.)
-
Double Jumping is exclusive to Genji, I don't know what kind of games you've been playing where a Genji gets absolutely demolished, unless the player is simply slow then I see no reason for them to not do good. Genji is a terribly simple character.
-
And I don't know what games you're playing where every genji does good. Most of them suck so bad only the actually good ones seem to do anything, the rest just jump around randomly and die. And simple doesn't mean easy. All characters in overwatch are simple, they were designed to be. That has no impact on their individual skill ceilings. Lucio is both the easiest healer to use and the most difficult to master. Reinhardt just has to hold a shield up but his entire usefulness comes from outfitting the enemies. Mei can get easy kills but without good wall placement she hurts her team more than she helps. All heroes are simple, yet complex to master.
-
You can say that but it doesn't change the fact that Genji is still easy to use. His Shuriken and Swipe combo has too much burst damage and anyone can do it. His alternate fire is meant to be spammed, and his ultimate has phantom hits.
-
Agreed, Widow was fine as she was before. Didn't mind the cooldown nerf for for her ult
