Sniping isn't the problem, primary weapons time to kill is the problem.

Not well. (Rant engaged....) As someone on Ubisoft's forum said a couple of days ago in response to one of my posts, "You know a game is in trouble when Bungie and Destiny---with all its problems----acts as a shining beacon of how to design and manage a game." That's where things are with that game right now. The first paid DLC is out (on XB1 and PC...I'm still waiting for it on PS4). While the DLC was a step in the right direction in improving the game....the game's end game is still suffering from the same game-breaking design problems and loot system problems. 1. The Devs still are too frightened of people gearing up too quickly and quitting, to reward people properly for the time and difficulty of the content. (Last night I completed a end-game story mission....like a Nightfall strike....on the game's hardest setting. I got a Gear set (exotic) glove as a reward that was at an item level BELOW the recommended gear level for the content. ...and at the SAME item level the game was handing out last month for clearing that content on an EASIER setting. THAT kind of shit----which should never happen---is what playes of this game are having to put up with. 2. The Devs keep manipulating the loot system so that they are arbitrary progression walls and loot inavabilities as a means to pressure PvE-oriented players into playing the Dark Zone and exposing themselves to getting ganked. Four months into the game---if you play only PvE---you still can't get access to the games highest level blueprints for weapons, armor or gear mods. So you get this vicious cycle. Players who play the DZ a lot can gear up to levels that PVE players can't match....and the PVP is unbalanced so if you go into the DZ to try to gear up....you just get wrecked by player killers. Who steal your loot----if they even bother to pick it up after killing you---and cost you the DZ currency and EXP that you need to gear up and get access to the stuff you can't get outside of it. ...and the devs are just STONE DEAF to the fact that the DZ is failing, and driving the PVE player base out of the game. 3. Players on XB and PC are complaining that this loot inequity is still just as bad with the paid DLC. They get decent item level rewards as leveling up packages---even if its a pretty narrow selection----but that the loot that drops from bosses and are in chests in-game are (once again) substandard. To the point many people are no longer playing that content once they reach the level cap for the DLC content (and no longer receive the reward packages) 4. The game right now si the WORST tuned game I've ever seen. The NPCs are obnoxiously tanky, and do ridiculous damage....because the Devs tune everything with the assumption that youre running with a 4 man team that is optimally geared, and efficiently using ever buff in the game. Which is never the case if your solo...or playing with a PUG group. This next story really summarizes everything wrong with the game right now. In PVE there are weekly events called "High-risk Target" missions. They are basically strikes you run agains new enemy leaders in parts of the old core game map. You get ONE attempt to compete these missions, and they're timed (about 9 minutes...Think Black Spindle). To get access to one of these missions you have to collect 40-50 units of "Intel" from lower level boss drops in lower level HVT missions. This takes about an hour or so of play to do. If you fail at the mission...that's it. No reward. Intel lost. Can't run again until you re-collect that intel. Succeed you get ONE gear item at the game's highest level....you only get to run it once per week. Now the content is rated at level 33...and a recommended item score of 150. My main has an item score of 231...and I went into this with a PUG team where everyone else wsa between 210-220. They were so squishy against these level 33 enemies (the game has enemies that are two levels more powerful) that the other guys were getting one-shotted by enemy snipers. I wasn't able to be one-shotted, but if I got hit, I got knocked down to just a sliver of health. ...and you hve to fight and kill about 30 enemies like this in an open area that you can't leave (automatic fail)...while they're taking cover, sniping you, and pounding you with grenade launchers if you arent' forcing them to keep their heads down.... ...all within 9 minutes. Because the sheer tankiness and damage dealing isn't bad enough. But we have to throw in a DPS-check as well before we'll actually give you a reward that's an upgrade. We failed because we ran out of time. I'm OVERGEAREd for the content by EIGHTY -blam!-ING item levels....and we still wipe. ...and I lose an amount of resources that correspond to an hour's game play. So I not only wasted the time I spent tyring to clear the mission....the game also robbed me of an ADDITIONAL hours play. Bottomline, I NEVER tell people NOT to play a game. I always give a "Only play this game if..." answer. I'm telling you to stay the hell away from this game if you aren't already invested in it. This game is a rolling dumpster fire. The devs are stubborn, tone deaf, clearly don't understand the game they've created or what their fan base wants...and are way in over their heads in dealing with the games laundry list of problems. Design problems. (Rant over)

That's quite unfortunate but exactly what I was afraid of. I knew the DZ would be something that eventually would have ran me off. Seems these designers think of rewards as a four letter word.

Edited by kellygreen45: 7/15/2016 6:57:18 PMMore like the grounds keeper who won't accept that the sidewalks just aren't where people want to/need to walk. So instead of re-doing the sidewalks, he just keeps trying to throw up more ropes, and signs and other barriers trying to force people to walk the sidewalks that dont' go where they want to go..... (Hell, their lead forum CM was actually dumb enough to get caught SAYING that....out loud....in a moment of pique with a loudmouth poster. It was the classic gaffe of getting caught saying what you actually think.) Its really nuts. Hence the multi-paragraph, mouth-foaming rant on my part. I've NEVER seen anything like this before. Never. ..and its really sad and frustrating because the bones of the game are REALLY good, and this game has the potential to be something really special. But Massive can't seem to get out of their own way.

Bump!

People using snipers at hand cannon range and in is a problem though. I get killed by more snipers at 15-20 yards than I do cross map
-
And if primary TTK was faster that would combat 2 tap snipers.
