Not sure if anyone else has noticed the trend, but the system for finding us spawn points seems to be getting progressive dumber as time goes on.
It's been an issue throughout year 2 that didn't exist year 1 and I initially put it to maybe being a function of the new maps, but that is no longer a possible explanation.
For starters, as much of a shit show as the last IB was from a matchmaking/lag standpoint, the spawns were atrocious. We played games on Rusted Lands (year one map) where we controller A and B but would spawn at C and you'd think "okay, maybe it's just spawning us the only place it could find to be in the clear"
Except it will drop you right next to 2-3 enemies by their control point and it's insti-death.
Mayhem and I played Control and Clash last night and in 2 games I was spawn killed like 6 times. I don't quit matches and I -blam!-ing RTO'd in one i was so pissed off. I literally spawned and got shotgunned in the face.
The next game we played on Shores (year one map) and Mayhem and I both spawned in the cave by C at one point...
Right on a detonating grenade. We both died again without taking a step.
I just don't get where this issue is coming from. We talked about this in the post IB discussion and it just seems every fix causes 2 more problems.
Anyway, I'm curious if anyone else is experiencing anything similar.
Edit: just played a match. Video above.

I think it's caused by the way a lot of people play. There are people and douchebag fairyteams who just want to spawn trap the entire match. Plus people who don't know that pushing too far flips the spawns, on top of people who like to troll by intentionally flipping the spawns. You also have teams that scatter themselves all over the map instead of moving together, resulting in a no safe place to spawn situation. At the beginning of year 2 Bungie gave us two new supers that could (one of them still can) wipe an entire team on one end of a map and stay active long enough to make to the other end (the enemy spawn) in time for another potential wipe. That didn't help and it may have encouraged more spawn trapping overall, especially with new players. Primary time to kill is slower now. The overall pace is slower. Many players won't even engage without either a clear advantage or taking someone by surprise. What better place to do that than where the enemy spawns?
