Short answer, no. How would bungie know you're using a modded controller? There's no way of knowing. Hell, people use a keyboard and mouse.

Keyboard and mouse isn't against their policy. A rapid fire controller is an illegally modded controller which will not only get you in trouble with the people that made the game, but also the people that made your console. In Destiny however there is no way to tell and there really isn't any benefit to using one anyway since everything has limit on its fire rate
-
Never said keyboard and mouse was against policy. Just giving an example of our control options.
-
I doubt they would get in trouble with the console developer as both Microsoft and Sony market an elite controller modded to their preferred specifications. Also all modded controller retailers have to get approved by the respective console developers for the privilege to make the controller, which are marketed as being legal mind you. So if the companies were lying that would be false advertising and unauthorized sale of a licensed product.

Depends on what he means by rapid fire. I know game developers can tell if people using a controller that can shoot faster than someone can pull the trigger. That cant tell u got xtra buttons but lightning fast button mashing can be caught.

Edited by OutlawRacer666: 5/29/2016 5:35:53 AMI know in destiny and other games, the RoF can't be exceeded by rapid fire mods.
-
This. A scout rifle for example, is programmed to be able to be fired up to a certain RoF. Doesn't matter how fast you hit the trigger, there's a point where it won't fire any faster.
-
Yeah but they can still tell the trigger was pulled x amount of times in x amount of time.
-
For games like destiny with a ROF the can't be overridden unless another program in I introduced via a cheat or hack, no they would be able to tell how many times the button was pressed as the ROF is static not dynamic
-
That's how the mods work, they are programmed to basically pull the trigger for you. I don't plan on setting it above normal speed.
-
If you can control how fast it pulls the trigger to not exceed the capabilities of a person then you should be fine.
-
Thanks! That was my reasoning as well.

Ok. Cool. Thanks for the help.
