How about extend on Earth:
Old Russia
European Dead Zone
Old Chicago
The Frontier (patrolling and stuff would be nice)

What gets me is they named four to five places on Earth. Old Russia, European Dead Zone, Chicago Swamps, Buried streets of New York, and the Mumbai Push. Yet we only got one explorable area and two that only show up in Crucible (they added City perimeter which is also located near Old Russia)

The bounty robot mentions gulf of mexico. Over the PA cayde says he lost a hunter in south Africa I believe.

Sorry, I mean specifically in concept art. They had concept of skyscrapers of New York buried so deep in snow that the lower levels became dungeons. They had the swamped streets of Chicago that looked gloomy and interesting. The had the lush jungles of the Mumbai Push. Europa. Aircraft carrier graveyard. Etc. I get not every concept makes it into the game, but these were places they talked about even AFTER the initial footage was out and the game was well into the development cycle. Normally something that was concept would've been already known if it was cut or not and they acted like it still existed.

That buried city was for Freehold on Mars
-
No, the concept was snow, not sand.
-
might I request a link to this concept art? the only ones I know of involving heavy snow were of Europa
-
This is the one I remember them using during the developers conference when they talked about the different areas.
-
My apologies, I forgot about this image. I believe you are correct.

Rahool also mentions the Brazilian exclusion zone every once in a while

It is possible that those were only concept arts and they re-used those ideas for the Crucible for a bit of variation. I sincerely hope Destiny 2 will have more areas per planet, or at least more planets.
