I'd really like to see you test a Doctrine of Passing against the other current top 5 primaries in the game. I sure as hell couldn't win against them 1v1.

The only good thing about the doctrine is firs rate, and persistance. But if people try too burst fire, they are screwed. I main a doctrine and plan c all the time (unless theres a team of snipers) i use range finder on my doctrine, so once my persistence kicks in, your dead. End of story, but i can still be beaten, mostly in 1v2's but 9/10 im winning 1v1's

What you're saying fits with what I experience when going up against a Doc. Most maps have areas where the engage ranges fit the Doc perfectly - i.e. Drifter, Thieve's Den, Asylum and maps like them were made for the Doc. Every other map has areas where a Doc user can stay in and dominate. Simply avoid the sniper lanes. I just want my Vex back - before it was nerf killed, and I would feel confident going up against the Docs.

Id use the vex now if i still had mine cx. Since the ice breaker and thorn and the year1 last word still work, the mythoclast should still work
-
I have win over it with Hacksaw, Red Death and TLW

Doctrine's TTK is way too quick, mainly because other stuff is terrible. It's Monte Carlo damage, with a much higher fire rate and huge clip. It's impact stat doesn't represent the damage it actually does.
-
Doctrine is just like TLW. It's really good from 15 yards in and non-existent beyond that.
-
Rubbish, Doctrine has a surprisingly good range. If it's range was similar to TLW when it has no range perks selected it would be fine.

Watch the video dude posted below. Any good Scout or Pulse would easily have dropped them first in their distance kills. It's a normal AR and honestly it looks just like using my Up for Anything in year one. There is literally nothing OP about it.

Edited by LateMinotaur051: 3/1/2016 6:26:29 PMThis video pretty much shows how I saw (on the receiving end) the Doctrine all week in Iron Banner... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tU5S4_3kZuI

Watched it. They should have died first on almost all those encounters. It literally is no better than my Up for Anything from year one and NO ONE called it OP.

By the time I had two bursts from my 310 Red Death or 314 Nirwen's or 3 bursts from my 310 Hawksaw into the Doctrine shooter's head, I was pushing up daisies. By the time I had 2 or 3 rounds from my MIDA or my hi-RoF Suros scout rifle into the Doctrine user's head, I was in the respawn screen. I tried the First Curse. I got one shot off... .I never won a single engagement 1v1 at typical engagement ranges on a typical map. I'm nowhere near as good as you, but no primary has dominated to this degree - not the original SUROS Regime, not the best Vex and certainly not the best Thorn. This past weapon's tuning update appears to have shifted damage toward low impact/hi-RoF primaries. This is why guns like the Malok and Doctrine have emerged from the background. I believe the 0.04% fiasco for auto rifles was a smoke-n-mirror for what Bungie really did.... shifted damage toward low impact/hi-RoF weapons.

Doctrine cannot outshoot MIDA unless you miss.

Edited by LateMinotaur051: 3/2/2016 5:14:31 PMThe really good MIDA shooter MUST make every shot a head shot in a chaotic engagement to have even a slim chance of winning. The Doctrine shooter just has to hose center mass.
