I've not seen a large amount of the player base having the ability to pull off no scopes "easily." It happens, but in my opinion it is the exception more than the rule. It's definitely not as prevalent as it was in the old Halo 2/Halo 3 days. I appreciate the ideas on how to continue to improve the Crucible experience. I'll continue to take feedback to the devs about making reducing the effectiveness of snipers. There have been a ton of ideas expressed here including decreasing auto aim, increasing flinch, and even adding a scope sway.
Make Fusion Rifles true mid range weapons again and specials would be balanced again.
What are some of your ideas on how to improve Fusion Rifles? This goes for everyone, not just OP. :) Keep the ideas coming. Thanks.

  • RANGE ACCURACY BULLET VELOCITY I should not be spraying someone from feet to face at pulse rifle range. I should be able to get all bolts in the chest on a single squeeze.

  • How to fix fusions: Significantly buff the accuracy and make them hitscan BUT - make the charge time much longer, at around 2 seconds Alternatively - just buff the accuracy a little bit and leave the other stats alone

Cozmo, fusion rifles are just too unreliable at present. The first thing would be to undo the stability nerfs introduced in the last update. Then, they need some sort of adjustment to make them more reliable especially under poor connections. Ex: make them hitscan weapons instead of projectile weapons, greatly increase bolt velocity accross the board. Sometimes i hit someone squarely and the bolts just dont register. Theyre super inconsistent even in their intended ranges. Theyre not effective in PVP. Theyre not effective in PVE either. Any sniper adjustments should be done in PVP only. Sniping is fine in PVE. Please don't change it.

  • 1.Narrow the cone of the blast 2.Faster travel time 3. Buff stability 4. And hits need to register correctly 5.fix THE VEX MYTHOCLAST 6. Telesto needs a small buff 7.also a little less charge time.

  • Less aggressive recoil pattern, maybe faster bolt travel time and maybe an aim assist upgrade?

Add sway to snipers Severity of sway is affected by aim assist/target acquisition Severity of sway with breath held is affected by accuracy Increase damage of higher RoF snipers to have a significantly higher DPS Increase base stability, accuracy, and projectile velocity of fusion rifles Increase damage in PvE by roughly 35% Undo nerfs to shotguns' handling and movement speed Distribute shotgun damage across twice as many pellets Slightly decrease base accuracy Slightly increase base range Increase damage of higher RoF shotguns Increase precision multiplier to 1.2x Increase movement speed while sidearms are equipped Increase damage in PvE by roughly 30% Grant special weapon resistance to guardians during super, roughly as much as majors have

  • Unscope when taking damage. Or only for damage past shields.

  • Take the original values of fusion rifles when destiny launched and give them a 0.003% nerf to muzzle kick. this will bring balance to the force.

  • Have them fox the bug in stability? That might help. Why does the Dark Blade fusion (one of the LOWEST stability fusions in y2) have the exact same exact recoil pattern as Telesto and Pocket Infinity. Both have much higher stability stats, and yet they all have the EXACT same recoil lift, spray, and kick.

  • You- your... your kidding about the fusion rifle part right Cozmo? -.- Simply give fusion rifles as a whole the stability they had before the nerf that made stability non existent, and slightly reduce the cone spread of the fusion rifle bolts.

First of, bullets spread, it needs to go away! It is pretty ironic that you are trying to balance weapons, but at the same time add a random spread pattern for fusion rifle. It should ALWAYS shoot where you aimed, ALWAYS. Thats the big issue with fusion rifles at the moment. Just by removing that you already solve the problem of inconsistency for fusion rifles. Second, last balance patch was supposed to buff stability when you ADS, and nerf stability when you hipfire. But it was just a nerf overall, stability and recoil is way worst then it was back then, for both ADS and hipfire. Please fix this! Other than that I dont see anything else, remove random spread pattern, and fix the last change to ADS/hipfire. And please for the love of...... remove the Vex Mythoclast from the fusion rifle files, stop considering it as a fusion rifle, since it doesnt act like one it shouldnt be treated like a normal fusion rifle. PLEASE. This gun is completly broken because of the fusion rifles tweaks, that, I am pretty sure, were not intended to adjust the Vex Mythoclast.

  • So last night I got quick scoped by a sniper while I had storm trance active. I was already killing this guy, his shield was down and I was moving towards him and to the left. Not just straight at him. I was pretty speechless.

  • He sniped you. Was he just suppose to stand there and let you kill him?

  •
He sniped you. Was he just suppose to stand there and let you kill him?
No, but pulling out a sniper in Stormtrance range should never be a winning tactic.

  • Cozmo, i personally fell in love with the year2 plan c, i run it on all my classses and in trials. The plan c has been the only fusion rifle i had in my hands besisdes the murmur (which is irrelevent now) there needs too be new exotic fusion rifles, i love fusion rifles but the only two good ones i ever used are the ones i listed. Id love to have a mini plan c, like how there is eyasluna, and a red spectre. I have never seen a fusion rifle as good as the murmur, perfect range, i used to out snipe snipers with it. I miss fusion rifles. ;-; especially with the new 1,000 yard stare crisis in trials cx i rush in with a plan c, and wrecked 3 snipers easily. Just because camped my teammates res, i just flanked. Its really boring too have too sit and wait, it ruins my gameplay and my expirence in destiny. Im not saying nerf it. But give us better options cx like in trials, little no one actually uses a primary. When they do, they just simply have a mida and run away for a res(which gets them nowhere) and last words trying to slide in my face and pummel cx like ive gotten many triple downs, just a eyasluna or my doctrine. There needs too be a only primary game type, (WITHOUT NO LAND BEYONDS) because in my opinion, it would take more skill and stradegy. I love having strats to pull, but when i have to take my dusty ass sniper out and sit, make some smores like other players are, then im done with pvp cx i can get 30 kill+ easy as hell just rushing and making right calls, but people that sit in one spot with a sniper have no skill, yes i know its hard to gets some sweet snipes, ive been there. I just want fairness. Especially with the sidearms switching, the ice breaker bull crap. It ruins everything. The point of rules, like you might as well make all year 1 gear up to light because there still gonna use ice breakers, thorns, I've seen some vexs. If you really make 170 light equal to 300+. Isnt that a bit unbalanced? How a thorn still -blam!-s up 310+ cx and its a 170 light gun. Thats a big number difference.

  • Reducing handling, movement speed etc. for shotguns was ridiculous. There is no reason why you should be able to run and jump around faster with a large sniper rifle than with a sawed off shotgun. While you're at it, notice how no one uses pulse rifles anymore?

  • I agree completely. Movement speed needs to be hindered a lot when you have a sniper out. One of its biggest problems in my opinion.

  • I'd revert fusion rifles to how they were prior to their last nerf. If you'd recall, fusions had virtually no backlash or praise in these forums in that time (coming from someone who visited here on a daily basis). They were in the "perfect" zone where no one thought they were too good or unusable. Everyone accepted and respected where they were. To this day, for me that nerf was the balancing team's most idiotic decision. It's one thing to over nerf/buff a weapon when they need it, but fusion rifles needed no altering at the time, and they got it anyways. As for snipers, I'd simply opt for more flinch and complete aim assist removal.

  • The nerf was because one tester named "Greg" was whooping everyone in the testing team with a fusion rifle. Yeah that is a great way to balance weapons.

  • I can't tell exactly what went wrong with fusions, but I remember it being my main choice in pve and pvp as a secondary weapon. I could counter shotgunners once in a while, when I calculated the distance and charge time right. But now, I can't kill anything with FRs; in pve yes, I can, but still that's not a very good crowd control weapon as it used to be. Now I prefer sidearms (still hard to find good ones though, in HoW they're perfect). If the match demands, I use a sniper, since I found one I feel good using recently.

  • Honestly Fusion Rifles are AWESOME right now if you grab the right one. I hated fusion rifles and then got ahold of Ashraven's Flight and it opened my eyes to the whole weapon type. If you want people to use more fusion rifles you MUST GIVE THEM AN INCENTIVE TO PUT THE SNIPER DOWN.
