These kids act like this money goes straight into the CEO's wallet. They haven't a clue how a business works.
Is gaming headed this direction? Yeah, probably, eventually. At least the big titles.
Is it anything new? Not even remotely. "Free to play" games have used this business model for a looooong time.
Is it a problem? That depends on a lot of things. What are the items available? Is it pay to win? What is the money being used for? What type of game is it?
Here's the long and short of it: Destiny is a perpetual MMOFPS with RPG elements. The micro transactions being offered are cosmetic only, reasonably priced, and of fair quality. The money gained from these sales is being used to maintain the current state of the game, and periodically provide special events for players to enjoy. There is nothing to make a player feel pressured into paying for the items.
So no, in this instance, there's nothing wrong with spending your money on something you want. This is a fact all you children decrying those who would purchase said content should try to get through your dense skulls.

While I'm ok with buying things, they are not reasonably priced. They're not over priced by too much either, but they should be lower in my opinion.

$10 for a book... I Guess thats reasonable by bungies standards

You don't need it. Im proud to say that I like seeing bars filled up because I'm a simple human being 👍

$10 for an extra experience, a memento, and a little bit of extra stuff. That's more than reasonable.

I guess we will always disagree on what a reasonable price is then. I think it's more than twice of what it should be.

And on top of that, if you don't want it you don't have to buy it
