the hatred and junk is part of the process. having you or anyone decide what's good feedback and what's not will bias it based on your opinions and ideals. which begs the question - who are you to decide?
there is no easy answer. the only way is to allow ideas to bubble up through popular hate.
there are enough levels of biased filtering within bungie before a problem reaches a decision-maker. we don't need more.

I respect your opinion, but you can't allow things to "bubble up". It would be easier to have people actively searching for ideas or trying to help solve problems. It's pretty easy to discern between "hate" and "I don't like this, but here is a way to possibly fix it". Hate and "feedback" are always necessary to progress, but sometimes progress is smothered in the "feedback".

Actually you're wrong. There is a difference between constructive criticism and complaining and hate. You're entitled to what you wish to say, but for two guys to try and filter through all your "entitlement" is difficult. I'm not biased, but I think they need more people looking for ideas and problems, besides, "nerf this, I hate this game, I'm leaving, I'm not buying TTK"
-
and what two guys are you talking about? you do realize there are more bungie employees behind the scenes monitoring the forums than Deej and cozmo rt? not to mention the forum ninjas who aren't bungie employees who moderate content.
-
I mean people like deej and Cosmo who answer questions and have positive conversations. The ninjas moderate content, but I'm talking about someone who goes through the forums, finds things that are either good ideas, problems, or things bungie should address, and brings them to the higher ups to decide what to do about them. Take for instance the discussion we are having now. Since you are arguing valid points, I'm happy to talk with you. What I wouldn't bother looking at is if you were simply telling me I'm stupid or that bungie is (whatever vulgar word). We need more people than deej and Cosmo to say, "hey, I've noticed what you have been saying. It seems ______ is a problem, so we'll look into it. Hopefully I'll have better information for you later." Or, "that's a great idea. I'll put it on the concept list, and maybe bungie will implement it. I'll have more information at a later date." Since deej and Cosmo have so much forum to look over, most of the time, their only response, (if any), is "we're looking at it." It's usually very impersonal and sounds a little uncaring, which is understanding for their massive work load.

While there are more than just deej and Cosmo, I think they might need some people who aren't affiliated with bungie to give them a better perspective, and remain unbiased.
-
who are you to decide what's good feedback and what's not?

Common sense. I'd gladly listen to someone talk about how the game is bad, if they have some valid points against it. I'd listen to someone telling bungie to nerf a gun, if they have valid points. I'm sure you can figure out if someone has something intelligent they want to discuss, or someone simply yelling.
-
you're being far too naive about this. your experience playing the game inherently biases you. if you get your ass whooped by shotguns you'll be far more likely to find an argument to nerf shotguns as an intelligent discussion. but even more fundamentally - if 90% of the forum users want to bitch and moan about something who are you to say their voice isn't important because it doesn't make sense to you? if you read any of these hate threads everyone in there seems to agree with each other. their arguments and reasoning makes sense to each other. if they don't make sense to you then why do you get to decide what reaches bungie? u know why deej and cozmo leave the occasional plain reply? because they aren't decision makers either. they are far from it. in fact DeeJ needs to constantly consult people like luke if he can reveal a piece of information - even if that information is something as simple as "we're looking into this issue". if you think anyone will remotely allow you, as a non-employee, to say anything along the lines of "we're looking into your feedback", you're heavily misguided on how companies work. im leaving this discussion here.

Very well. Think how you will. In regards to your question about shotguns: if the statistics show that there is a problem with the range of a shotgun, then that can be addressed. And of course those of us who would work at the forums would consult Luke and the higher ups about replying to an issue, but with our help, we could find issues and positive ideas much better than currently. I can see you don't agree, which is fine. However, I don't approve of you saying I'm naive because of it. I know how the forums work. I feel we need more people like deej and Cosmo however.
