In-game LFG via the Tower and Reef. Remember how in Red Dead Redemption you could lose track of time just playing Poker with the NPCs? This is the type of stuff Guardians could do while in the Tower and hoping to find people who want to do certain activities. In fact, because multiple Tower lobbies are used, why not organize them and let players choose what type of Tower crowd they'd like to be surrounded by? Default Tower lobbies would be as they are now, just people turning stuff in or doing their own thing. But while hovering over the Tower, give us an option to join an "Activity Lobby" if you will, with a variety of categories. The Tower can give us the option to start/join Nightfall, Strike, Raid and regular Crucible Fireteams. As for the Reef? Offer the same options, except that'll be for Trials of Osiris and Prison of Elders. These activities require fewer Guardians, so the 7-player deficit wouldn't be too much of an issue. And when you join one of these Activity Lobbies, you can select or enter a few characters to appear over your Guardian, such as "Will Join Any Raid Team" or "First-Time Raider." When player(s) are interested, the option to send a Fireteam invite for said activity will appear when you interact with one another, as it does now.

Since it's a T game, Activision wouldn't want to hook kids on gambling...unless it involves real money with poor rewards #advancedsupplydrops

It's not like engrams are comparable to slot machines or anything.

Now that is brilliant. Different types of Tower lobbies You should win some kind of prize for that. Why not a General Tower or one with Guardians looking to raid or PvP... Very very interesting idea.

Glad you like the idea! I'm actually surprised this isn't already in the game, now that I think about it. It can't be that much more complicated to program than the selections we make for Crucible game mode lobbies/matchmaking. At least I don't think it would.

I still think hosted lobbies would be the best all around solution long term, but that involves changing the entire way we group and so couldn't see that pre-Destiny 2. What you're suggesting is just a tweak to systems that are already in-game. We're all going to the Tower and Reef anyway, how hard would it be to dedicate particular servers to activities like you suggested? I think you should make a stand alone post on this and flesh it out a bit more. This combined with the ability to inspect/invite other players that already exist could definitely be a feasible solution in the current game. The only other thing I think would need some improvement would be ways to quickly message without having to go through console messaging or proximity chat.
