I got it a while ago and it's worn out(RIP). Using it, my headset will cut out extremely frequently and it just makes me not want to play.
My dilemma is that Microsoft revised the Xbox One controller to include a built in 3.5mm port like the Dualshock 4. So I don't know whether to just get the newer version of the controller or to get a new adapter. I like the adapter for the mute/volume/filter buttons it has.
I'm not sure that if I get the new controller that I'll still be able to control the volume using the audio adapter plugged in alongside it. If you're set up like that, let me know how it works for you.
I'm using this headset, if that helps. I'll also need to replace that at some point, it's not ideal but works well enough so I'm going to hold onto it for now.

2 RepliesWait, I just realized you're LT. I thought you were Catalyst, lmao.

i yanked my adapter piece from the crappy default headset out, and it split down the seam. snapped back together but it's already a shit headset to start with. get whatever, but you can just use a plug to get the audio from the TV and a generic boom for chat.cut off the USB end and jerryrig it together with a mini-hdmi port

1 ReplyIf they changed the ports on the newer controller, then buy a new one and sell the old one.

The new controller is a nice improvement. Better bumpers on an already fantastic controller and no more adapters

I have an extra one of those. It went to my old headset that broke.

If your gonna buy a new controller id say bide your time an go big with the elite. GO BIG OR GO HOME

I went through three adapters, all of their cords went after <6 months. It was just cheaper in the long run to get a headset specifically for the X1. I got Turtle Beach X04s and they're way better than my X12s and I'm pretty sure they'll last longer too by the way it's built. I've had my X04s for almost a year and they show no signs of wear.

5 Repliesgreat excuse to get an elite controller.

The headset I prefer to use doesn't have volume /mute buttons anywhere on it, all of the controls for it come from the adapter, which is great and I love. I say adapter, idk how your mic is but for mine and any in the future I will probably be using the adapter

2 RepliesMe personally would rather only spend 30 compared to 60. If the controller works fine save the extra money. That's how I look at it.

5 RepliesEdited by CrazyLincoln: 7/29/2015 7:16:29 PMI assume you're using the Microsoft stereo head set? Yeah, the issue is with the software of the xbone. Test the adopter with another set of headphones with a mic. I've had the same issue with my headset and so has my brother. I've tested the headset on my phone and the mic works fine, but it is not being picked up by the Xbone. I've even sent my headset twice to Microsoft and each time I end up with the same issue.
