We already know all this. I'm buying it anyway. Because...Oh look bright, shiny lights!!

It's really more about lack of competition. Fallout 4 and The Division are the nails in the coffin for me. I enjoy destiny's gameplay and have voiced my opinions. Bungie not acting on them ultimately just hurts them.

Funny trend I noticed. Every so often someone comes on here and says this title or that title will be the straw that breaks the Camels back. Saw it with Shadows, saw it with Arkham Knight, COD, The Witcher, Dragon Age, etc, etc. And yet they are still playing Destiny. Perhaps the time is split, but it is not outright quitting. Same thing here, People droning on and on about Fallout, the Division, Gears of War and so on, but I promise you these same people will still play Taken King. Quite honestly we don't know if any of the latter titles while possibly good, will have the replay value Destiny has maintained going on a year now,

I think that people who say "Game x will kill destiny" are a little delusional, it may well kill destiny for that individual but not for the whole comunity. However if people's individual concerns are not answered or resolved eventually there will be enough people pulled away by their own 'destiny killer' that all you will be left with are fan boys and idiots and become unprofitable and then die. You can't please all of the people all of the time but you can piss most people off most of the time :p Hopefully this game doesn't die of a thousand cuts. But only time will tell.

I don't think it is an all or nothing thing. Some people leave permanently. I'd need something comparable to have me quit. Fallout will reduce my game play and the division will squash it. I only like to play one major time sink at a time. TTK will likely take a few weeks to complete all content. And if I'm deleting old raid gear then I'm not going to be compelled to collect everything again.

I'm not suggesting it's an all or nothing thing for me personally, but for a lot of people on these forums, ..and yeah I'll grant that a great sum are '' ghost accounts '' however for the ones that do play, these are the things they are saying in hopes of getting attention drawn to a particular problem they have with the game, and it's crap. Bungie knows what else is out there, hell their own benefactor is releasing a game that will more then likely cut into their player base in Blops 3. And yet how scared are they? So scared that Luke Smith does an interview and practically dares you not to buy the Taken King. They know what they have, the Casino is not going to shut down because of the Division, or anything else for that matter. Only time is going to do that.

Well said, you summed it up well. I still play daily, not saying I will quit playing entirely. I have other games to play, and due to recent PvP frustration I'm on the hunt for another game to occupy my gaming sessions.

It's not just a function of time. There are actual impacts from lack of content and poor public relations. Maybe the impact isn't enough that Bungie has to worry about it. That's sad if that is truly the case...

Haha exactly.
