The main reason for this update 2.0 is to make all of your favorite year one weapons, not so great anymore, so that you might be more receptive of the year two weapons that will drop with TTK. This is made further evident by the fact that they are pretty much nerfing weapons across the board, even ones that didn’t need it. Of course they are giving other somewhat valid reasons for the update as well, but these are being used as smoke screens to hide the true intent of the patch.
There is a lot that Bungie does not want you to know about TTK DLC, this is why we get no solid details from Bungie about it. Here are a few rumored things they don’t want you to know. TTK DLC will basically be a reset, with all new weapons to grind out all over again, they refer to these weapons as year two weapons. Also, neither legendary or exotic year one weapons will be ascendable. Bungie update 2.0 will nerf your year one arsenal to the point of being less desirable, it will then be easier for them to separate you from those favorite weapons when TTK drops in September. All of this is an attempt to make TTK, year two weapons a little more appealing than they would have been, had they not nerfed your year one gear.
Why would they do this? The answer to this question is simple. Destiny lacks content, they withheld major portions of it to later release as high priced DLC. Being that content is lacking, Bungie decided that they want to reset progress and make players grind out everything all over again. They do this by introducing new year two gear, to make up for the lack of content. Many are ok with that and say it is expected from games like this. Others are not ok with it. Either way, Bungie should just fully disclose what their plans are and reveal in detail, exactly what new content players will be getting for their $40.

Edited by UFSman: 7/19/2015 10:52:22 AMI like the idea of ttk but the thing I'm most angry with is that new people can get everything for 40 quid when we spent 140 pounds on the game it is a rip off I'm serious thinking about quitting and coming back in one to two years and just buy the best pack for year 3 if your still around which will save me more money than just buying every dlc when it comes out. Check out destiny ttk on Amazon seems you can get the whole package for 40 quid in September and just giving year one people a sparrow, shader or new emblem will not quell my anger about this fact.

also we need very hard mode for the old raids and not allowing us to upgrade our old wepeon a or if to upgrade them again for the 4th time even though it has not been a year since the first upgrade really pisses me off.

I think the main reason for the update is that everybody is rocking the same load out in Crucible. The nerf of GH, Icebreaker, etc. is an just an unnecessary inconvenience.
