Oh -blam!- you. You and everybody else knows that the nerf to the best PvE weapons were senseless.

  • No they weren't. It provides an actual challenge. Ever heard of it? Yeah, some of us actually enjoy a good challenge.

No, it doesn't provide challenge. It makes bullet sponges more spongey and that's it. Anybody who felt the need to take longer was free to stop using the only guns in the game with decent damage output.

  • You do realize that most are still doing the same damage output, right? For example, BH and IB still do, ammo is just reworked for them. And rocket launchers actually get a boost to blast radius, so initial damage is increased there. Guess what? The Gally is a rocket launcher! So it does a bigger boom from the start, but it's wolfpack rounds don't do as much. So basically, it's kind of countered there. So really, it's the same. Just as Thorn has less range but has a possibility of stacking DoT 5x. Guess what that means? It has a possibility of doing MORE damage over time.

  • You do realise that anybody who starts their sentence with "you do realise" sounds like a douchebag, right? And no, damage output isn't the same. Less ammo = less damage. And no, initial damage isn't increased on Gjallarhorn. Blast radius is the area over which it deals damage. It has nothing to do with the number. Since Ghorn is used on single, high HP targets this "buff" doesn't really help. If anything the increased blast radius just means that you'll be rocketing yourself more while trying to hit somebody who's not at extremely long range.

  • Most everything you kill drops ammo for something. So how is that less ammo? Likewise, on Ice Breaker, you only have to wait an extra 3 seconds for a shot. Granted, those 3 seconds can be a very critical moment, but still unlimited ammo. So I really don't see what the problem with this retuning is. Many people are excited to have their Necrochasms and Hardlights back. I know am, but overall, this retuning will provide a new challenge to this rather stale game. I say mix it up and try something new, don't get butthurt and cry about, knowing in reality, more people are for this retuning than against.

  • If you're sniping the goal is to not go where the enemies are. To get the ammo you have to go where the enemies are. That's the only thing that made black hammer worth using. It uses up a perk slot to cut out the half second reload animation, if and only if your whole clip hits them in the head. Not that it matters. Finite ammo = less ammo, and less ammo = less damage output, which means you were wrong. And I don't really care to mix it up. I don't care to take longer to do the things we've always done. I don't care for bullet sponges to be even spongier. If anybody wants those things they can just use weapons with lower damage output. They don't need to ruin them for people who enjoy getting things done in a reasonable amount of time.

  • A "reasonable amount of time"? I understand that, I really do, but sometimes I like that extra time. Literally the only reason I do raids anymore is to socialize. After all, this is a "social game". I get on, grab some randoms and do a raid. Easy way to make new friends, easy way to get things done. And rarely do I use the same gun for a raid. I like to try new approaches to things. Many do. And I feel this update will further open up those opportunities.

  • But it DOESN'T open up opportunities. It takes opportunities away by making weapons weaker, it doesn't make anything else stronger. If you wanted to try new things you were always free to do so. You didn't have to use those particular weapons if you didn't want to. People who didn't like them didn't have to use them, people who did like them were able to just fine. This patch isn't going to make anything else any better. It's going to make strikes and PoE a worse grind than ever and that's it. If they didn't want people to sit back and snipe there were plenty of ways to actually fix the problem. They could decrease the massive waves of adds, decrease the massive HP of bosses, or decrease the massive melee damage done by bosses. Any or all of these would have solved the campsniping while simultaneously making the game more enjoyable.

  • Again, did you not see how many weapons were actually being buffed? Meaning they'll be usable once again. The Gally will still wreck, as will BH and IB.

  • I read the notes. ARs got buffed and that was pretty much it. The main PvE weapons all got nerfed for no reason.

  • You know why, right? The Destiny community are nothing but cry babies. Well, those who speak on the forums anyways.

  • But now we can use the weapon as it was intended. It's not like the gally is gonna be dead

We WERE using them as intended. They've been that way for almost a year. If that really wasn't the way they were meant to be they would've patched it a long time ago. Hell, they patched VoG out of spite to make it harder under the CLAIMS that it wasn't the way it was meant to be even when it clearly was. There's no way this stuff would've escaped notice for so long if anything was actually wrong. You should also read some of peoples' other posts about why sniping isn't actually broken, and how close range encounters are high risk for no reward since there are thousands of adds and every enemy, especially bosses, have crazy powerful melee, with bosses also having unlimited streams of weapon fire and huge amounts of HP for no reason.
