Guys. I want to start off by saying, Please. No negative comments or hate. This is a request by over 2,000 subscribers on YouTube. Vault of Glass theories are widely known and people love them.
Here is something that I have thought up over a few weeks time since the House of Wolves DLC has been released.. Something became a little more understanding to me in my opinion. The strength of us Guardians has increased immensely and it is quite possible we can accomplish something new.
The Gorgons have been questioned since the Vault was released. It's widely known for its confusing size and confusing spot in the game. Why is it there? Based off of Greek mythology, Gorgons are the three sisters, Stheno, Euryale, and Medusa, with snakes for hair, who had the power to turn anyone who looked at them to stone. Now why is it in the Vault of Glass? Well, I've noticed a lot (I'm sure you have too) that a lot of this game has to do with Greek mythology, which in my opinion makes the game more interesting. The Gorgons have been known in Destiny for killing off your team because a n00b or a ignorant team member tries to take the lead or tries to attack a new enemy/Harpy. We have been able to kill the Gorgons, all of them actually. But what I am yet to see is can we kill them all before a single one can respawn? The Gorgons Labyrinth has some interesting features in it. It has a timer on how long it took you to make it through, no one has come up with a reason for it. It has a Gorgons Killed marker, again, no one knows why. And lastly, times detected. Now back to my theory. Like many things in the game if you accomplish something or fail in something. The game loves to give little messages above your Super Charge bar. I think it is now highly possible to kill every Gorgon before one can respawn. If this is done in the attempt length needed, you will receive a message above the Super bar indicating a chest is near by, or something possibly like Medusa is near. Or something like that. Once that message appears, you run to the left jumping puzzle and make your way down to the cave. Or if it is in the case of a 'Medusa' then kill her. That is just my theory guys, let me know what you think!

1 ReplyI dont think its possible to kill all of them, because after 6 they become immune (at least for my team)

1 ReplyMy first journey into the vault, my fireteam abandoned me to journey alone. Left alone without the light of fellow Guardians to guide me I traversed the gorgons lair fir three days. And for those three grueling days I lived amongst the gorgons becoming one of their own. But I knew I had to proceed through the vault. Gathering up my ascendant energy gifted to me by the chest of the gorgons I set out to escape the maze. Eventually I did find my way out, but was presented with another dilemma... A massive Canyon separating me from the end if my journey. I laughed in the face of this gap and proceeded to the route left of what is known as the "jumping puzzle" Meditating for a few moments and gathering my light, I super charged a fist of havoc. With thoughts if the almighty Kabr and the lessons he taught in mind, I flew across the daunting canyon to the other side. But here I noticed something.... Else... Something unknown... What I saw was more platforms materializing out of thin air, but what irked me the most was that they seemed to lead nowhere. But alas there was a vault to explore, and being amongst the vex time was limitless and so I ventured out to discover the vaults final secret. And what I found was nothing short of... Vexing

4 Repliestry not killing atheon since he doen't have a enrage and see what happens

Na I think it's just another way to make have "something" to do.. think about running out of stuff for the week. What's left?. Hey you guys Wann go look for that chest in the vault. I think with all the things that's been found in this game the extra chest would have been one if it exsisted. That's my theory
-
11 RepliesI wouldnt say this is something I have theorized. There's already 2 chests in gorgons labyrinth. I don't see why another one would be there, maybe someone else in the raid. Let alone, make it only accessible after we've gotten stronger months or years later. Makes no sense. But please... Hear me out on this. Who has watched that 8 minute video about The Taken King? There's a part a guy talks about a chest on Vault of Glass. Now... The way he says it. It's almost like there is. Almost like he was still hinting at it. I don't know how or where itd be but I'm almost certain there is one more we haven't found.
-
2 RepliesWhy not just kill 7 Gorgons? If anything, I'm sure Bungie's favorite number is how many you need to kill.
-
The secret chest will only be unlocked for players that preorder at least 2 copies of the Taken King collectors edition.
-
I don't believe there is one now but I do have a strong feeling there will be with the expansion.

Aside from the block all teleports chest? Maybe they meant the Ether chests (~.•)

4 RepliesIn the teleporters there are doors.

3 RepliesYou actually get to kill medusa in TTK. I think it's a new strike, it looks pretty cool to be honest.

6 RepliesEdited by C4IlUM: 6/17/2015 8:15:27 AMI do like my vog theories mate and that's a good one. On another theory note lol before heading into atheon final room, the broken portal over on the rocks... have u experimented with it at all? I had a thought that perhaps when everyone is in taking out atheon when he opens up the portals and transports the 3 random players perhaps this portal also becomes active. This means one player would need to stay behind as the other 5 go in to tackle atheon. My raid team are all a bit lacking of spirit regarding spending time doing theories but wondered if you had tried anything like this?

However, I think after the third killed they ALL become immune to damage that's what I've experienced. If that has changed I don't know haha...

2 RepliesIts a long shot, but how long does it take for gorgons to spawn? With each kill they all get stronger..

Check reddit raid secrets. It's been done

I wouldn't mind trying it

Good theory man. It'll just take time. I'm sure there's still easter eggs and such in other games that are older than destiny that have yet to be discovered.
