Go with a known charity that has a good track record. For nepal i would suggest Red Cross.
You want the highest percentage of money you give to actually go to the affected disaster zones, not get caught in "administrative fees".
Domestically Salvation Army is always one of the very best to give to.
Save the Children
Oxfam
Global Giving
Just to name a few. If you want to donate, donate. no need to buy shirts and shit with overhead costs that cut into the money you are giving.
