I consider myself an above average crucible player. I know what works and what doesn't work for the most part with all three classes in pvp.
However I've been watching a lot of high level pvp players on stream lately and they all seem to dominate with the bladedancer blink combo when used correctly. Arc bolt grenade, blink, blink strike. I really want to learn to master this style as I think blink is just too good to pass up in pvp.
I'm wondering if any high level pvp players (above 2.0 k/d in all game types) could provide me with some tips on how they approach their engagements with a load out similar to the one I'll give below. I know k/d isn't the ultimate marker of skill but it does separate out the bad players from the good for the most part and high level pvp players always have amazing k/ds.
Bladedancer
Blink
Arc bolt grenade
Quick Draw (best choice?)
Primary: Thorn/TLW/Strangers Rifle
Secondary: Shotty/Sniper
Heavy: Proximity Rockets
I'm having trouble deciding when the time is right to blink in and cause havok and hold back and be patient with my hand cannon. I think it may come down to practice and experience but if any really good pvpers have some specific tips that would be amazing.
Thanks bros! Happy head hunting!

1 ReplyMay be a bit late, and I'm not an amazing pvp player (I can hold my own and come top of most matches but don't have amazing kd), but I have some advice for blink as I main a bladedancer or Voidwalker Go into a patrol and practise the blink timings, such that you can go up, forwards or any direction consistently. Then go to somewhere like CE bridge and use the pillars as accuracy testers - once you can blink between pillars without missing your mark, you know your limits. In crucible, by using your radar effectively you can set up shotgun ambushes by appearing unexpectedly behind an enemy. This is really the key to blink - disorient enemies and appear behind them with a shotgun.
