Should Destiny stop supporting last-gen systems with updates and new content, starting with the 3rd DLC?

No. They should wait until Destiny 2 to phase out the last-gen systems.

Yes. The old systems are keeping it from its full potential.

Maybe, I haven't yet decided.

All consoles should be abandoned, all hail the PC master race.

If you check out the update today (3/26), you can see that vault expansion could only add a handful of slots due to memory limitations on last-gen systems. If Destiny wants to significantly improve, should it stop supporting old systems? I'm not asking if they should close the servers, just if they should stop releasing updates/making DLC for old hardware, so that they can aim to push the limits of the PS4/Xbox One rather than the increasingly obsolete PS3/Xbox 360. Tell me your thoughts!

  • I say phase them out. It'd be no different than when other games stop updating, like Mass Effect 3, NCAA Football 14, etc. For last gen users, it would just be like those games. No new content, but the servers stay up. It would unrestrain Bungie. As much as this game feels half-built, I don't blame them. For a last gen game, Destiny is light-years ahead of the competition. But in it's current state...imagine driving a brand new Ferrari that has the engine of a '94 Accord. That's what this game is--great design, but spoiled by limitations under the hood.
