Some other suggestions
The dudes in the below link were off to a good start with ideas, but their are definitely a few more.

1. Keep RNG chances for raids and nightfall as a secondary chance opportunity, but every exotic weapon should have an exotic bounty. I legitimately feel like I earned my bad juju, thorn, pocket infinity, invective, super good advice, etc. I think it's insane that clubs have formed over weapons like gjallarhorn - when I've played with guys with over 1,000 hours who haven't gotten one, and a dude with 50 hours gets one in nightfall and then for taking last place in crucible. Tell me that makes any sense!!! I don't care how hard the bounty would be - complete 50 raids on hard - here is your gjallarhorn or spend 30 minutes in the crucible without a death. At least you know there is an end all be all and something to strive for - where when you finally get you exotic you've been hunting for since launch, you can actually feel like you earned it or you have a path to earn it.
2. There should be a vender where you can convert or buy tons of different items for others - with prices fluctuating like a market. I have almost 400 ascendent energy and shards, why can't I exchange them at even a rate of 10 to 1 for radiant energy/ shards? I have over 1,000 hydronic essence for my warlock, but only 20 plasteel plating for my titan, even at a rate of 5-1 I should be able to exchange items for items u actually need across characters. You should be able to buy more stuff with the crucible and vanguard commendations as well - not sure about you guys but I have 15 or so of each sitting there rotting. There are plenty of other examples for convention / market but those are a few to start with.
3. Why isn't there an end all be all for faction rewards? Again, RNG kills me and others in this regard. You made it to level 10 with dead orbit, here is a shader (and for every subsequent 10 you get another different one) You made it to level 30! Wow here is a ship. Currently there are dudes at level 6 that have gotten faction shaders and guys over level 20 that haven't, tell me this makes sense.
4. This is rumored that they are correcting it for house of wolves - but why make us grind all over again for an exotic we've already fully leveled up.
5. The gunsmith should allow us re-rolls like iron banner does on legendary weapons. And he should actually sell a legendary once in a while. He should also sell weapon shaders / sparrow shaders.
6. The ship lady should allow you to customize your ship just like you customized your character in the beginning. Or she should at least sell shaders
7. Why can't we go back and change out character animations or races. I am an awoken on all three characters, but I think the bow for their wave is flat out dumb. I should be allowed to change it to suit my intent for my character - make it more of a part of me, which is why a lot of us play games anyway.
8. Make the ships actually useful instead of just something to look at. To me, it should have an option in orbit to "enter" your ship and you should have a vault there as well and be able to customize space and show it to people.
9. Why on earth can't we engage in meaningful dialogues with NPC's.
10. Why aren't there patrol bounties where you have to protect NPC's with a little story attached as to why or something more meaningful then collect this or kill this for us.
11. Why do we never have access to information / resources that you collect for different factions in patrol - I should be able to take shock cores back to Dead Orbit for glimmer or something at least, we never see the fruit of collecting all of that stuff for NPC's in the tower.
12. Why isn't there a specific lounge to congregate for raid party's. I know the community picked this up a little bit with LFG websites.
13. The story would be great if it weren't all on grimore cards and in the game....but you've heard that a ton of times.
Love the game - I'll say that over and over again, it still has great potential to be something super special to the gamer community, you work at updating is encouraging, but I hope you take these suggestions into consideration.

I agree. Personally I think the only way to get an exotic should be a bounty. They should be legit earned. This rng bullshit just cheapens it and removes a lot of content opportunities from the game.
Some other suggestions ... you work at updating is encouraging, but I hope you take these suggestions into consideration.
Most if that stuff cannot be added to the game at this point, not for free anyway. There is no coding set up in the core game for it. I'm pretty sure this is reason why matchmaking (etc, such as selling materials for marks) is either mandatory or not at all as well. The coding does not exist for both options.
-
how do you know the coding doesnt exist? do you work for bungie?

Edited by xnbkcbc: 3/8/2015 3:20:24 PMName one time where they have changed the game where you have an option rather than it being changed from one extreme to the other. I'll wait... And that is the less extreme of his suggestions above. This "community" is dreaming if they think all those pie-in-the-sky ideas are able to be implemented for free, let alone going to happen. Do you guys really think things magically happen in game design? That stuff is not built into the game, or it would have been implemented in one way or another. Since it isn't, it cannot be added without a major overhaul. And a major overhaul is not going to come in a "patch".
-
If only there were some way to add things to a game post launch.............
-
Edited by xnbkcbc: 3/10/2015 3:44:11 PMYou can't add many things with a patch. Microsoft and Sony have limitations on what they will allow. In a paid for DLC, yes. Free patch, no. You guys better start getting your heads wrapped around that And besides that, there are limitations on Gen7 hardware as well. They are not going to add things to One/PS4 not on the 360/PS3 until the next game.

You have some great ideas IMO, some my friends and I have discussed. I agree 100% that we should have another use for commendations. You guys want re-rolls on legendary gear? The price is one commendation. You might think you have lots of them if you have 10 of each, but believe me, I burned through 18 motes of light re-rolling my Iron Banner gear to get what I wanted. Those commendations would be sought after for sure if they were "re-roll bucks.' As far as the gjallarhorn issues, yes, I agree with you there too. Bungie claims they want this to be a social game with lots of players forming raid teams and clans and a vibrant community. Well Bungie, you created a two-class society: those with Ghorns who are willingly accepted on LFG sites to join raids, and those without it who are often told "no thanks" because they lack the Gjallarhorn. Is this by design? Create a weapon that is viewed by many as a necessity for the hard mode raids and then provide no means for players who haven't gotten lucky enough to stumble across one to purchase one? How about this? 100 strange coins for a Ghorn. Sell it next week. No way a player who just started will have enough. The guys and gals that SleeperCell mentioned, 1000+ hours and no Ghorn, they'll have 100 coins. Do it for the fans who love this game and stay loyal and just want to not be excluded from raid groups. Nobody should be told they aren't "qualified" to participate in a social game because of a lack of a single weapon, one that was sold before by Xur in any case. I know others have said this before, but I think my solution is an elegant one. Just a thought.

Bungie did not create an environment where players are excluded by others because of a lack of one item. That blame belongs on the players. My characters that are not equipped with my one G-horn are sometimes invited into raids while I am in the tower area. In fact, all of my raid invites have come from being in the tower area or having past raidering companions send me requests. I have never used a LFG site and don't really think I need to.

Good additional remarks and well said
