The whole world turned into a "run, kill, teabag, die" fest populated by worst qualities of adolescent behavior. Griefing would be rampant, in fact built into the game. Just total chaos all the time.
Want to run a mission with a couple of your buds and just blow off some steam? Forget it, because a bunch of punks decide to ruin your mission just for kicks.
Force this upon PvE? No, no, and again, NO!
For crying out loud, I have never asked for a change to PvP to suit me, and I feel the bulk of the PvE players are the same. Why is it the PvP crowd can't leave us alone?

Confirming games with forced mixtures of PvP, such as Souls and EVE online, are "populated by worst qualities of adolescent behavior" and "just total chaos all the time." Dude, don't be awful.

Other games have had specific areas that had warnings posted and also a countdown until you were able to participate in case you changed your mind.

Edited by DeathsPit00: 2/28/2015 10:08:05 AMSo making an area for it is ok in your book? Say.... Skywatch now has that option and you're doing the Omnigul strike. That makes it to where some asshole can come along in that area and merc you with a well placed sniper shot and instantly you die. There goes the hope of beating that strike without any deaths for a bounty or just to prove you could. This is a horrible idea unless put strictly into it's own selection. Make it an option that you pick either from the Crucible menu or the same way you select a difficulty on a mission when you choose Patrol, but NOT taking over an entire area just for the hell of it.

lol this guy is just copy and pasting this argument into others comments, I literally got the same post on my comment ITS CALLED PASSIVE MODE....GTA....GTA.....GTA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-
Edited by DeathsPit00: 2/28/2015 7:05:34 PMYeah. I did copy and paste my same argument in 3 places. It still gets the point across. Not everyone is gonna read through all of the comments and I wanted more of a chance of people and Bungie seeing it. Nothing wrong with that. At least I didn't make duplicate new topics. Also, this is Destiny. Not GTA, so take that passive mode crap somewhere else. A separate map is what would be needed. Not a bad sport map.lol Although I could live with a new zone being added on that is strictly for pvp as said above.

I haven't made one topic so I don't know if you are referring to me or what...the only topic I created was to suggest that commendations have more use in the game they seem to be building up just like ascendant material. However all I am suggesting about the pvp/pve merger is that GTA has done this and succeeded, imo, passive mode allows for players to do what they want without being killed by nonpassive players.

Edited by DeathsPit00: 2/28/2015 7:22:23 PMI wasn't referring to anyone. I was just pointing out that duplicate comments aren't as bad as the same person making duplicate topics and threads, which I've seen a lot of honestly. The thing is that Passive mode was a built in option in GTA from the start and it would take way too long for Bungie to incorporate in at this stage. A PVP Patrol option for Destiny, along with regular Patrol and maybe even Heroic Modifier Patrol just, for me, makes more sense.

Agree to disagree im done with this pointless arguement

They created areas that had no other purpose...you never need to go there for missions or bounties. It is strictly to participate in the open world pvp. For instance star wars the old Republic has an area on hoth that has 2 bases and a set of objectives and it is purely for pvp.

It would most likely be a world you would go to. So you could just avoid that world.

While I could live with this as an option, let me also point out the obvious... This is a game with so many holes and exploits there is no way to fix them all. Remember, every attempt to fix a cheese results in bugs that make legitimate play all the harder. Now imagine a world where every single player is actively searching for off-the-map kill spots. They're there, and the players will find them. So, while in concept this might sound like a great idea, the reality is it could never be put into play, and all we have is the history of Destiny to prove it. Right now raid cheeses affect no one outside the players using them; imagine if that ability could be turned on other players. That's what you're going to get with a PvP/PvE blend.
