we go through this all the time. every game does. i don't understand the point to threads like this. the player base will always fluctuate. it happens with every. singe. game. looking at the numbers for a mini DLC, that has to be purchased separately through a pass, and saying the numbers are low, isn't a good comparison.
as usual, people comparing apples to oranges.

The point of this thread is to show that even though two content drops just happened the player base is trending down. This isn’t something thing that has happened before, every other content release has seen positive growth. This drop in players suggests that destiny isn’t in a good place. I don’t see what this comparison is, he’s literally just giving data and his interpretation of it.

and that's just it. posts like this happen every DLC. guess what, destiny is still here. lets face it, people get burned out from playing the same game for 5 years now. there will never be a mass influx of players, especially from a mini DLC. the next time we would see a large increase in player base will be after Christmas, and when D3 releases.
-
While posts do pop up saying the game is dead this post isn’t saying that, it’s expressing concern over actual statistics showing a major loss of players during two content drops happening near the same time. And as for it happening every content drop, no it doesn’t. When we get new dlc the player base has always grown, even if just a little, this is the first time the player base has shrunk dramatically during a release week.

These trolls just keep dismissing or aren't able to comprehend what you're saying. 2 new content drops and the numbers going down has not happened in this game. Any moron that thinks this bodes well for the franchise is just kidding themselves.

yes, every dlc drop results in a, "look how few people are playing compared to launch" post, which include stats pulled form where ever they can find stats to help prove their point. just like the OP did originally. the other reason why i don't understand this is because this was the first mini DLC. it simply won't have the draw that a full DLC would. especially since in order to get this mini DLC, you need to pay, up front, for the remaining 2 mini DLC's. so its hard to compare a full DLC drop to this. but leave it to the forums, to post their opinion, of an apples to oranges comparison, and state its a fact.
-
This is just false. Historically every time a DLC drops there is a large spike in daily players. Large being 500k+. That spike lasts at least a few weeks and then starts to SLOWLY trend back down. This the first time the spike was just 100k people and then dropped 500k in three days. That’s new. I find it concerning, but you don’t have to. You just do have to understand this isn’t business as usual.

again, you are comparing apples to oranges. every. single. DLC. previously. has been large/full DLC's. the BA DLC is a mini. so you can't compare the two. i know that's what every one on here loves to do, to help prove a point. so again, you can't use a historical comparison, since there hasn't been a DLC like this in the past. if you can't understand this, don't worry, there are plenty of people on here that can't comprehend it either. you will fit in just fine. i don't know how else to explain this, so this is my last post. i am tired of having to repeat myself, hoping for a different result.

I understand what you are saying, but I don’t agree that we should be seeing lower numbers because it’s a different type of release with a different name. Black armory released new content in the game including a new raid. That should come with a player increase. The fact we saw less not more over the course of 4 days is a bad sign. I would agree with you that its a sign the new direction for content releases, specifically time gated content and catering to content creators/no-lifers, is being rejected by the majority of the community. The raid community would tell you that raids are the best/most important/most popular aspect of the game. I already knew that wasn’t true, but if you look at past weeks with a raid release and compare them too Scourge there is a bit difference. If you want to strip out the context and just look at then pure numbers fine. They went down.
