Dude. DeeJ flat-out said in a Gamescom interview with Curse Entertainment, in no uncertain terms, that all [playable] [b]Guardians are good. We are the heroes in Destiny.[/b] [i]On A Side Note: Guardian Radio is basically an hour-long day-dreaming podcast. It's all about stream-of-conscientiousness with those guys.   • In context, what I'm saying is they like to go on tangents (brainstorming, etc, etc) where they ponder all these different ideas for the game without necessarily grounding them first in what we already know. Good for them, but not for me.

  • Lol. I happen to like that about Guardian Radio. In real world application, this is probably how Bungie comes up with their own ideas. Group Brainstorming. If I was part of the conversation during Episode 26, I would have brought this up.

  • I kinda hope so, it would make it more challenging for sure, although it would suck if a group of asshats joined your public event and started killing everyone just to mess with people. this scenario leads me to believe probably not in story, but maybe kept to PVP.

  • Agreed. As you said, having friendly-fire means you can't just spray-n-pray or spam grenades which requires skill... but also sets up for trolling. If it was me designing Destiny, I would include friendly-fire in private areas and PVP but remove it from public events and safe-zones.

  • Can we not have a little fun with the lore they have proved thus fair. We all have our own interpretation based of the facts we have received. In a way you are right, so is Deej, we all are protectors of the city but how we successfully accomplish that is up to us. I believe the Vanguard do what is necessary for the good of the last city on earth. On Bungie's [url=http://www.bungie.net/en/destiny#page=frontier&panel=frontier-Mars]THE FRONTIER[/url] page is says "Awaiting reports from the Vanguard". Now most likely that is just a place holder but I see it as FOTC is allowing the Vanguard to have free rain beyond the wall. Now they may disagree with with decisions a Vanguard makes but in the end they keep the city alive.

  • THERE WILL BE NO FUN IN DESTINY. Check your imagination at the door ;) But joking aside, I take what he said as [b]literally[/b] meaning there will be no good/evil meter or option to play as an evil Guardian or enemy race in "story mode". Competitive multiplayer.... who knows.

  • Touche, Imagination checked. Sir, I am in complete agreement with you. If we are all under FOTC what need is there for factions other than a cool emblem and PvP. Expressing our moral decisions on how we protect the city could be through aligning ourselves with a faction.

    [b]To me[/b], on the surface "factions" seems like they have a lot to do with lore, PVP, and maybe clans. Each one will most likely have it's own vibe or aesthetic? We know for a fact that each faction has a tower on the wall and a foundry/ship-builder. So maybe factions are a way to split up the population-base across the entire city??? or give people a sense of ownership?

  • Good point, Shepard was able to still be the ultimate hero good or bad, but if he was too bad [spoiler]The Reapers wipe everything out[/spoiler] And I don't think Bungie would allow you to take that course.
